I was wondering if anyone has removed the stock steering wheel or can take a few seconds to remove the cruise control switch

If anyone is willing to check for me that would be awesome! all you have to do is remove the two screws from the cruise control switch that is mounted to the steering wheel.

Here is the cruise wire i have, i now need a switch for it to mount to the steering wheel!

Thanks in advance

ok basically this what i need someones help with:

i need someone with an SI to take off their cruise control switch that is screwed onto the steering wheel. It is held on with two bolts.

Once the switch is off, i need to know what the connector looks like. And know how many holes it has. A picture would be best

Reason being is that i have a JDM DC5 RSX wheel on my 00si.

The steering wheel has no slot for cruise control switch. What i have done so far is i purchased the cover with the hole from honda.

Now i need to know if the 02+ switch has the same connector as the 00 cruise wire that i have posted above.

It seems second nature to me but i realize my original post can be somewhat confusing.

I thought you had the DC5 steering wheel ?

did u somehow get the crusie switches on your DC5 wheel?

you dont have to remove the whole steering wheel,

simply unbolt the switch from the steering wheel.

this is the wheel,

http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr/i=wMjIyNTc0NnM0MTNkZmQzMXk1NDE%3D.jpg

i want to add the cruise buttons onto it. Since its an EK i want to know if the EP's switch that mounts to the wheel will connect to my cruise wire that came factory on my EK.

The pic i posted above is the wire from my car, i now need to know if the EP switch will work with that connector

thanks

I have the DC5 steering wheel which doesnt have the cruise control module. There is no plate I can unscrew or unclip. The only clips on the wheel are the two to get to the two torx bolts.

Same e-mail address that I sent you the pic from but there really is no need for that. That is what these forums are for anyway, right.;)

Take care

My roomate put my EP sterring wheel onto his EK, it took him about 20 min to rewire the cruise control so it would work.

here's the best i can help on the spot....
Connector pinout and diagram for the '02-03 Si.

They don't look compatable without customization.

http://65.168.247.56/ephatch/cruisecontrols.jpg

Not sure if this helps either - but this is what the connector looks like on a 96-98 civic... Maybe it's the same on yours? This connector type is IDENTICAL to the setup on a 99-01 integra too... That makes me thing a 00 Si would have THIS setup.

Good pics and info E. The rewiring involved was all done to the wires that connect to the control box on the sterring wheel.

perfect... then the wiring diagrams I posted will be helpful. They are all diagrams of the steering wheel side connectors that plug into the switch itself.

Esmith, thanks for the diagrams!

Bmx269, Great pics! can you take a pic of the back of the cruise switch that is mounted to the wheel?

to everyone so far, THANKS!

it seems my first question of did the EP switch fit onto my EK is no, but moddable LOL << that even a word?

I just got the Ep steering wheel cover with the side hole for the cruise switch, need to swap that on and hopefully see if i can get either my EK switch to bolt on and look clean or find out exactly what is involved with modding the EP switch

Thanks again

slight update:

i swapped the outer covers today! the USDM cover with cruise hole fit perfectly onto the JDM wheel.

as for using the EK cruise switch it doesnt look that clean, especially since its shape/contour is different then the wheels shape!

Time to either modd a EP cruise switch or see if i can find another stock honda switch that will work with this.

Any more info is much appreciated!

thanks :D

Here is how my boy wired up my old EP's wheel into his 99ex and got the cruise control to work. Its very simple, just the three wires that go into the green connector.

What exactly did your friend do?

Did he buy the wire from the cruise control switch and hook it up the stock cruise wires?

im looking at a pic of stock wheel that shows my cruise wires, i have the same red blue grey wires with the green plug. I just dont have the rest of the wiring that i see in the picture.

Also how did he know what color wire went where?

this is a pic of what i have, let me know what im missing and exactly what i need to do to hook it up

thanks

The green connector is from the car that plugs into the steering wheel's cruise control box. He stripped the three green wires from the EP steering wheel that he inserted into the green connector. He figured out which wires go where from comparing both shop manuals. If you put the EP wheel onto your car, you'll see the same thing that I took pics of.

i think i get what he did now!

problem is i dont have part of the wires that you show:

This is all i have:

yup it looks like all you need is the cruise control box and you'd be set. If you could PM me the info about how to wire up the SRS to get it to work id appreciate it. Again, sorry this took so long.

Actually, I re-read the post and you have the control box. I cant make out how many wires are supposed to go into it. If its three than you'd be set, just fab up a way to run wires from the green connector into the cruise control box.

I have been emailing back and forth with your friend rick.

let me know if you still need the info.

I gave him the screename to the guy that has done it so that he can get exact details in whats involved.

Simply put: the guy took the 4 wire airbag connector and joined two wires together and then joined the other two wires together again.

so he has two main wires with two wires each. and then joined that to the stock airbag harness.

Let me know if u need a diagram for my vague two wire explanation!
