They're claiming that T1R is a BS brand that was made up by AJ to sound like it was Type One Racing. I know that I shouldn't be on ClubRSX, but those guys are good for so many laughs.

Yes T1R is A&J Racings brand. Type One is brach off of Spoon focusing on service.
The T1R brand is hardly what I would call "knock off" parts.
The whole issue of who distributes Spoon in North America has been heavily played out on Virtually every message board. I do not know the specifics other then at one time A&J was the only authorized distributor for Spoon in NA. That has now changed as there are distributors in the States that deal with Spoon directly now. I do not know any of the details of these relationships so I won't comment on them other then several people claim to be to be Spoon authorized, even though they are not.
