"After finishing the new Lotus Elise - Honda K20A conversion kit, the engineering will commence on the F20C conversion. This will be a more substantial project, as it will require a completely new casting for the bell-housing end of the trans. Prototype Racing will produce this casting, fully machined, for anyone desiring to mate the F20C engine to the K20A trans." :D :D

This is info taken from this website: http://www.prototyperacing.com/f20kit.htm

Imagine the possibilities!!! But i dont think our Si has the same trans as the K20a, do they?

...dunno for sure.. if it is the 5-speed then yes...the six speed will fit also(from the rsx type-s)...

I heard that there is a couple of companies making an adapter plate so u can bolt up a GM 4T65-E auto transmission(used in drag racing).

Quote from the March 2004 iss. of Sport Compact Car: "The intricacies of transmissions are among the most complex in racing. But the 4T65-E is cheap, plentiful(check your boneyard), strong enough and being actively developed for racing. And there's at least one company out there working onf an adaptor plate that will allow it to be lashed to a Honda K series four."

to be honest with you, F20C is nice but i believe a k20 is nicer.IMO i think the F20 should stay in an S2K. I mean would you drop an NSX motor in a hatch if it was made possible to fit?.

wait I'm idiot i think Adam Sauwatari (sp?) did that.

FYI,

I emailed them about this casing ... here is the response.

Hi xxx,
Actually, I've decided that until Honda decides to include i-VTEC into the
F-series there's really no good reason to use this engine. Because of all
the positive press the F20C received, I like most people thought it to be
superior to the K20A, but since dyno testing both of them it's become clear
that the K20A simply works better. American Honda H.Q. is right around the
corner from my shop and they gave us a new S2000, which uses the new F22C,
to do some performance testing on a couple of months ago. On the same dyno,
my K20A made more HP and has a much better torque curve, so I figure what's
the point? I'd have to make an entirely new casting for the front half of
the K20A transaxle to adapt the F20C to it, which is a fairly expensive
proposition, so until the F20C or F22C can be made to perform up to or above
K20A standards there's simply no point in doing it.
The K-series is also a better platform for increased displacement, I can
build 2.2 and 2.3 liter versions of the K-series and have a better
rod/stroke ratio than the F22C has, and the K20A head can easily be made to
flow as much air as the F-series head, so once again, what's the point? The
F-series has two major drawbacks, no i-VTEC so the torque curve sucks, and
the ECU can't be tuned so there's not much in the way of aftermarket parts
available for it. Working in conjunction with Hondata, we've come up with a
way of using their new programmable K20A ECU on the F-series engines, but
that's a rather low priority in the over-all scheme of things so it won't be
available for probably 6 to 8 months.
Bottom line is this, the K20A at this point in time is the better engine in
terms of HP and torque production, so that's what I'm using in the Elise and
Exige. Is that the application you were concerned with or did you have
another one in mind?
Take care,
xxx

Sounds to me like the f20 is not a good swap.
