Whats the difference between the K20a3 and a2 blocks?

You need to do a search on this, as it has been covered many times.

In short, A3 doesn't have VTEC on exhaust side (single lobe only).
A3 block engages VTEC at ~2200rmps. A3 block isn't fully balanced (or
something like that), also does not have oil squirters.

A2 block does have VTEC on both intake/exhaust sides.
A2 block engages at 6200rpm, or something.

If your question is just regarding the blocks, I think the main
difference is the oil squirters and the crank. You'll get a better
answer than what I know with a search.

yep, oil squirters, crank, and cooler by the oil filter.

The squirters are probably the most vital difference.

I planning to do an A2 head swap when I near the end of my warranty.I just want to know if the blocks were the same and the only difference between them were the Head, Ecu, Headers/Exhaust, Tranny and Clutch/Flywheel?

I might do a full engine swap instead.
Thanx for the help.

Sorry for not going into more detail. Basically, I want a Head swap with the Toda engine kit, Headers and Type-R pistons and don't want anything in the bottom end fucking up.

If you are doing a complete build and balance of the A3 bottom end, then maybe. But if you have the money for toda engine kit you would be better off starting with a A2 bottom end, it will be much more reliable. Just start with a A2 then save for the Toda kit.

Wow I'd sugest that u just get teh whole engine swap and forget abou the Toda engine kit man. it'll be about the same price anyways. reather get the K20A engine swap and get a Mugen ecu. safer that way less work and hassles. ;) Good luck
