what else is different between the 2003 and 2004? besides the headlights and the tail lights and thats its 5 lug and the hfp.

the engine is the same - 2.0. some of the differences for the 04 model are 5 lug, headlights, tail lights, 16 inch rims, and side moldings.

I believe the 2.3 liter evolved from a typo on Honda's website.

It's just typo.
04 also come with 17mm rear sway bar and new a/c vents.
