I use to drive that much in my EP...at least 100 miles a day. But now it's down to about 1500 miles a month compared to 2-2500 a month. EP's are troopers, drive the heck out of them :D

My car has 30k miles on it, had it for 16 months. Drive it and stop worrying about "mileage." It IS an economy car.

The money you're gonna pay on insurance for a bike would be better spent maintaining your civic.

cheap??? suzuki sv 650 new is $5,899, so used sv is so much cheaper... honda cbr and yamaha r6's are some of the pricier 600cc bikes out there... and yea... like jaydub says, insurance is bank, registration is bank, and its even more if you dont have license...

If your going to get a new bike. Get something that has some balls. The new Honda 1000rr and the ZX-10 are the baddest bikes out there now. The insurance depends on your driving record as well. With a clean record it should run about $1000 a year.

I put about a 1000 miles on my EP each month. I haven't been driving it lately because I live on a dirt road and it has rained alot (muddy ass car). I need something else to drive when it rains.
Plus, my brother had a Suzuki GSX-R 750 and them shits was fast! I love speed too much and could not own a motorcycle because I would end up deceased shortly after the purchase. Be careful on motorcycles lots of speed, not alot of safety.

insurance is pricey... wouldnt kno how much for me... dont have any yet... too expensive lol... but your driving record effects it quite dramtically... and btw... if you want to get a license, get it in a class before you turn 21... after you turn 21, the classes are over $200 as where they're under $100 for you right now... going to DMV for the license is hella hard to do.
btw... gixer750 is nice... but its hella heavy. the power is lovely, but for beginners, its too heavy to turn with. sv's are really nice. small, light, torquey, and if it doesnt have enough power for you, mod it out... it'll take gixers in the mountains if you really wanna compare the two... if you want light and nimble, go with yamahas... but they are expensive...

Oldschool- Yup! They are bringing it back this year. It's bigger and badder than ever. 184hp and only weighs 380lbs. So to say rocketship would be a understatement.

Adam- Damn! 125 miles per day. Where do you work? Philly, Trenton or New York?

I would love to have a bike, I used to ride dirt bikes when I was a kid. The only problem is trusting all of the a-hole drivers out there on the road. You can be a very good and carefull rider but it only takes one idiot to f-up your whole day.:crym: I've had my car for about 15 months and I've got just over 10k miles on it.

i worked at a suzuki/kawasaki dealership last year. i've ridden every bike suzook and kawi has manufactured over the past few years. if your travelin more than 25 miles one way, get a standard suzook sv650. thier comfortable and prone to make you do wheelie antics on occasion. also, there pretty bulletproof. i've owned a gixxer 600(01 model), a gixxer 750(02 model), and a yamaha r6(00 model, it redlined ay 16K and would pull to 94mph in second gear.) the sportbikes haul ass. even the 600's would do the quarter in 10.75 and reach 150 in the blink of an eye. :D the gixxer 750 is sick(quarter in 10.25) and top speed of 173. the 02 and newer gixxer 1000 is ridiculous. quarter in under 10 seconds and too much top end.(not for mere mortals) also, the sportbikes are labor intensive, uncomfortable, and eat tires like candy. for transportation and the occational twisty or wheelie, go for the sv650. it's got more balls than you think. btw, i'll be gettin another bike pretty soon and i'm buying the sv1000s(no replacement for displacement.) :D :D :D . i have a $500 arai helmet, riding jacket and gloves colecting dust in the living room at the moment.:yellm:

1995 Mazda Protege, auto, 106k mi, $2700 B/O.

It's nice to have one for those bad weather days, but I like driving my ep too much so the Protege just seems to sit forever.
Sucks paying NJ insurance prices on it if i'm not gonna drive it, ya know?
