i want to know if i should keep it like that or put the stock upper grille back on, and paint the lower grille black to match it? let me know what you think would look better.

Paint both grills black, black out your headlights, and get those rims in gunmetal... then I'll eat my shorts 'omes!!!:D

I would also agree about painting both black and see how it looks. I especially agree about getting the headlights blacked out. Overall a very nice looking car there. Hopefully others will be able to admire it without feeling the need to take it from you..

the way i made them was with a little cut here and there. i traced the outside of the factory grill on one side to make a template. i make a template for one side only so that both sides match exactly. re-trace the template on the grille mesh(to the right length plus a little) cut it out, and start trimmin very small at a time till it fits perfect. the way to make it look clean on the top grille is tricky, gotta go in front of the screw holes from the stock grille. i then finished it off with some black door edge guard around the whole grille to clean up the edges and fill any gaps that were left. attached it with thin wire. just takes a little time to get it just right. when it gets warmer i am going to make a better design that will bolt into the factory locations, and possibley try and sell them. the bottom grille is waaaay easier, just trace and cut.
