I purchased a set when I bought my car. July 03. I've just had to buy my second set. First one went about a month ago and just this past weekend I had to buy the other one because it blew. WTF!?! 6-7 months for $20 bulb? Anyone else have a shortlife on their Silverstar?

For 20 bones it's to be expected. Same thing happened on my older civic.

i hate you guys... haha jk

what other alternatives are there to the Silverstars that give that look and brightness. I like the semi-HID look but I dont want the cheapo looking blue bulbs. Thanks for the input.

I had Silverstars for a while too, and they lasted me about a year of getting used maybe 4-5 nights a week for short periods of time. They were bright and I loved them for that but like everyone's saying, way too expensive to be replacing a lot!

I feel your pain I got my first set about a year ago and so far I have replace 3 bulbs and now another one just went out. I'm looking into buying a HID kit cause I do alot of driving at night. But right now I'm rolling with fogs and 1 headlight. But I'm not buying those things again. I used to have the cool blues in another car and they lasted almost 3 years, and cost less.

silverstar bulbs was one of tha first things i put on my ep. had them in for a yr. and a month and they're still kickin..

make sure you dont have any leaks or chances of moisture entering your headlight. maybe the rubber boot you plug into the back around the bulb isnt sealed properly..

yeah my silverstar lasted about 6months. They're pretty shitty! I bought Razo Premium White Zero for $70 and they're badass.

BTW... Everytime I install bulbs in my car, I usually wipe it down with rubbing alcohol before I install them.

Not trying to flame, but I can't help but laugh at you guys, spendin that much on blubs. As I've said in other threads before, go down to your local Target, and get the XenonWhite LiteGlow H4's. 4000k color temperature, and they only cost aproximately $13 a PAIR. They last forever so long as you don't touch them while installing them (which everyone knows you shouldn't do with any headlight bulb), and even if they do blow, they're $13 a PAIR :p

HID is too expensive and without projector headlights it shoots everywhere.

I am going to have the try these. My local Target does not sell bulbs so I am going to have to try anouther one. For $13 if I do not like them I can get diffrent ones and not feel bad. Right now all the stores by me only have the Silverstars out for a upgrade bulb.

I installed Silverstars in January and just had one burn out the other day. Unfortunately I had to buy a new one since the other was still working. Now I hope my other doesnt burn out.
