well as some of you read
i think i got the DEAL OF THE YEAR on a CTR style wing [smile] for 100 bux plus 40 shipping

wing came today and lemme tell u
IT IS MINT. . . no waves. . .cracks. . everything is A ok
AND the thread on the wing look good

all that is left is FITMENT. . which honestly i think should be godd

i will keep u posted. . .here is the only pic i have right now

more will be up later when i take it to rbf351's for "TEST FITTING"

well here is the deal

i took step by step pix of the install with RBF351

as for the cutting of the glass
i think i found a way around that
since the TYPE R style wing is the ACTUAL mold of the TYPE R
i am just going to have the body shop shave down the parts where u would have to drill thru the glass, and use the OEM double sided velcro that is used on the OEM wing. . . .
sounds ghetto BUT it really isn't
its just there to prevent shaking

AND

i am going to the body shop tomorrow to get a quote from my friend for the work

HOPEFULLY will be done soon

i put a hold on the CTR lights now that i seen the wing i have to get it painted ASAP :)

i really wanted to wait till spring but hell. .. . lights are going anywhere ;)

yes and no

middle holes on the oem wing have thread coming OUT of the wing. . . aftermarket goes in

SO i ran the wire for the LED thru those holes. . and instead of using the "plastic clips on the middle edge holes i used 10mm bolts
so just like the oem 2 bolts . .
as for the outer edge i posted above the prob with that

but looks SUPER minor

looks like the length is right, but where exactly are the holes? are they on the middle part of the wing, or the sides, cause it's weird that the holes would be where the glass is.

So do you have to remove the OEM wing???or does it fit on top??Im only asking because on my 2000civic hatch I was going to purchase the imitation CTR wing for it and it went on top of the stock wing. :cool:

looks really good!
once ya shave the studs,it should be flush w/ the body. CTR body kit would require removing your bumper supports.............

Kewl man, someone finally got the CTR wing. However, like 02SilverSiHB mentions, it does not seem to fit flush like the actual CTR one. Then again, this may just be since it's not actually installed yet and you need to stick the lower end of the wing.

Keep up posted, and let us know how much the painting and so on will be.

p.s. How in the hell did you get the wing for so cheap??? Ebay?

thats cause of the 2 extra holes that go into the glass, when they are sanded down it will sit flush

and just got the rear
just installed it on the car

took about 2 seconds

the front one i am going to see if fizz or a nYC shop has the jdm one in stock so i should have the front by the end of the week ;)

True. I have gotton my emblems stolen before also. Thats why im maybe hesitant to buy red ones for my Ep. I dont want to lose 60 bucks. Damn thieves who cant work to buy their own shit.

Thats true! They dont care if it fits or not. If they want it than they are going to take it. During the process of doing so they are gonna fu*k up the paint. Thats what happened to my 99 JRSC Ex many times. I just got tired of it being stolen so i put my stock one back on. Im not tring to scare you but i want you to know that there are haters out there that wants what you have.
