You're going backward there. What you want is the K24 block with a K20A, A2 or A3 head. Its like LSVtec. More low end torque added to the higher revving head = more power. Im thinking about doing this b/c my dad has a 4 cyl. accord and that is torquey as hell. I would say a K24 block with a K20A head will make you very happy.

First and foremost:

What does your Dad's Accord have to do with his question?

Next off is where I start my rant:

Why are you comparing LSVTEC to anything in his question, or your statement? How is a motor that already has VTEC comparable to a Frankenstein motor that comes stock without VTEC? You can compare a mini-me Frank to LSVTEC, or even B20VTEC, but when comparing, you must compare apples to apples. ALL K-SERIES COME STOCK WITH VTEC. I somewhat see where you are comming from on your comparison, saying that you get the best torque and horsepower, but this isnt a true statement. Stock to stock, the B18C5 makes more HP and torque than a LSVTEC all day long. Have you actually tried making this setup work? I have yet to see anyone post any HP numbers on a K24 with an A2 head. Let's see some number and proof backing up what you are talking about, and I will let you have your day. Until then, I really think your post was kinda pointless, and I think you need to not post answers to questions unless you have a valuable piece of information to add to the thread.

you all need to check the Skunk2 Civic RR project car K24 and A2 head and type R DC5 pistons.

you also need to check on HASPORT's supercharged K24 block with k20 head AND Jackson Racing SUPERCHARGER...that things is a beast!

I thought the TSX K24 head was a similar but not a exact replica of the a2 head.

I was thinking of the same thing, a K20A2 block with a K24 head....but that comes to the question, is the K24's intake and exhaust port boars the same or LARGER than the K20A2 head?

and does the K20A2/A cams and valvetrain fit the K24 head?

i dont think anyone has dug deep enought to find this out!

The ports on the A/A2/A3 and K24 are the same. The valvetrian will bolt on but the A3 and K24 (non-TSX) heads do not have the boss for the lost motion assemblies.

The Head on the TSX is a different casting than the A/A2 head.

Sport Compact Car's article on a k24 block with k20 head came up to nearly 200 whp.

All stock parts, too. Even if you don't want to waste money on buying the issue (I sure don't), give it a look at the newsstand.
