2005 honda will stop making the ep state side
so does this mean our car will be worth more cause it is rare
or get stolen alot like the itr and get totaled out "thats why you dont see a lot of them"
what about the aftermarket as far as mods go?

i suggest all of you get low jack cause you dont want to be like my freind (2001 itr turbo stolen and totaled):'(

and if this does become rare we will have a very desirable car
and high $$$$$$$$$value:D

im afraid something will happen to my baby cause some day it will be as rare as an itr

Maybe alittle of both. Theft is going to happen, even if we were not as popular when considered to the 99-00 SI's. Yet we will have our unique look :D

There is no chance in hell that our car will become as desirable or rare as an ITR.

yeah maybe not as desirable as a itr but as rare

think in a few years yeah it will be after some have been wrecked, junked, and sold for parts

if not a itr atleast a crx si

either way it will be hard to find

There's no way they'll become as rare either. There were three model years of ITR's, and each year had ~1500 (if memory serves me correctly). There have been more Si's sold in ONE model year than there have been ITR's sold all three years in the US combined.

either way i like my car and if it becomes rare that would be fine. As of now i dont see many of them anyway and I like it like that. However, if a CTR ever hits the states I would most likely trade it in.;)

i think it will be like trying to find a 95 si hatch...not that easy but if you look you will find....even thoug this will probably not happen for at least 4-5 years just like the 89-91 si hatches back in the day....hopefully i can get out of the 03 ep and into a 02-03 IS300 in a year or so....but then again, the ep just needs full suspension and big brakes and i could be happy for awhile??? who knows!!!

i think our cars prices also have to do with the fact that the used cafr market sucks ass. i mean why buy used when u can get qa brand new car for cheaper + low interest rates.

but im glad production has ended. less Ep's = more originality.

I'm kinda glad they will stop production, i want my car to rare, just like the way mine is rare now in that there are a few around here but none in my color for miles, but I'm kinda worried about the aftermarket aspect as well, even though if you look at it we do have enough swaps to keep us content, enough turbo upgrades, skunk two is giving us enough head work, hondata and there are already bottom end parts, i think we'll be fine and rare:)

well there is always rsx mods that may work with minor modification;)

we'll be fine. there may not be that much aftermarket support here but there was for the CTR. we just have to do swaps and whatnot. now alot of us got this car cause it was a honda that didnt NEED a swap but o well, we join the masses. this car has enough anyway. there ARE coilovers and there ARE turbo kits. so we lay low and the world wonders where the hell we went for a few years...................then all of a sudden everybodys got a crazy boosted ep that handles like an s2k. then everybody wants one..........then we sell our cars and make a few grand in like 5 years when theyre all payed off and we become the skyline guys of the future. ok, so im way ahead but i think from the CTR alone we'll be fine with aftermarket. just maybe this generation of hatch will have to open a savings account and play the waiting game rather than just saving a couple grand and searching day in and day out for a low milage jdm engine. i still think we all made a good choice. we were lucky o get one of these as it looks as though we'll be the last.:yellm:  :D

its already been done with an integra and a b sereis crv
i think we share the same chassis as either the crv or the element
(bottom frame) it should work with some cutting and welding;)

the suspenions of the EP/DC5/CR-V/Element are all fundamentally the same, the main difference besides AWD is the ride height. definitly doable

No, there were 4 model years of the Type R in the US: 97-98, 00-01.

In Canada, they had five: 97-01.

I think it was something like 700 or so for each year from 97-98 and they only had the Championship White ones. For 00-01, they had 1500 a year and I think it was split evenly between Phoenix Yellow Pearl and Nighthawk/Flamenco Black Pearl. Or was it 1500 per color, I forgot.

you're right. I was trying to find concrete build numbers for the ITR, but i only found 97 (500) and 98 (1500). I assume 00-01 were similar to 98. So, you figure a total of 5000 ITR's. That's not many for four model years worth.

I like my EP3 as much as you guys but, an economical Honda will never be rare or valuable (ITR is the exception). delSols are rare and not worth much more that a reg. civic of it's same year. Also the 92-95 civic SI (remember sohc-vtec D16Z6) is rare and a good car it's not valuable though. I love my honda, but it is by no means a collectors item the idea is obsurd!
