So how do i get on that "list of hopefuls" for the guardian testing?? The AFC is nice and all, but I want the bonus of self adjusting on the fly... And I'm not afraid to tinker with my car.

... And I'm curious if it can squeeze out more than the 267WHP I'm makin now... ;)

We will be choosing 3 or 4 different people with different setups to help aid us in the final street testing. So we need to find out the people who are interested and the mods that they have to help us make a discussion on whom we will use. Also, anyone who is chosen will receive a Guardian E.I. unit FREE of charge.

Eric

The original testing for N/A was to prove that the system could work at whatever extreme we wanted it to. It showed us that you could have the same fuel setup for turbo and still run N/A with out a problem.

I'm thinking about adding a turbo to my car soon but if this system will work on my car being N/A then I would love to test it out. I've never had the chance to drive a vehicle with any advanced mods (turbo, nitrous, supercharger, swap, A/F computer, atc.) and I'm sure that this Guardian system would be great!

Id like to see / show people how much better cybernation does with tuning then my rev hard fc, no real hard numbers/dyno graphs for comparison of a rh kit with rh tuning vs cybernation tuning are available right now. I also have a spare car so being out of mine for awhile is no big deal.

Just wondering...

Does it help my chances if i tell you I'm a certified network engineer and computer tech - have access to multiple laptops and different operating systems and would be highly skilled in testing and troubleshooting the software that talks to the guardian? :D

Just askin. :D ;)

Eric
I didn't realize that it would be illegal......... It is only illegal if you get caught ;)

I take it I would have to remove the cat, is this what makes it illegal?

Just a few bolts for emissions testing time. :D

So, are you telling me that you knowingly are opertaing an illegal vehicle within the commonwealth? :D :p ;)

Damn I even saw the video ;)

So I guess the answer to your question is "Yes" & "Hell Yeah"

esmith13
03-15-2004, 10:12 AM
Cool. I'm just pullin your chain. But for the record in case you ARE serious - It's not just a few bolts to put the cat back in unless you pay a muffler shop to do some work for you. Normally the cat bolts to the down pipe - but with the CN kit the down pipe and test pipe replacing the cat are one piece. You would have to get a shop to cut them apart and flange them so the stock cat can bolt to the cut downpipe.

Just a heads up incase you do buy the kit and expect to throw that cat back on for a day or so. ;)

HOOOOOOGANNNN ! respond Col. Klink..........:D

Thanks for the info...:D

But how would one go by getting a vehicle pass emission testing....theoretically thinking of course..

keep it less than 5,000 miles?

Register vehicle in other state??? i.e Jersey? ;)

Pay the fine (waiver fee to attemp to correct) each year?

Just thinking out loud and would be interested in anything that you might think out loud.....;)

out of curiosity: I'm in the market for a fuel computer...when will the gaurdian EI go to market?

from my understanding: with the gaurdian EI there is no additional tuning required...it just learns itself into a safe fuel management setup? so I wouldn't need to monitor the air/fuel ratio as much, because this adapts itself as neccessary? ie: no dyno tuning needed as far as air/fuel is concerned?

sorry for all the ghey questions, but searching doesn't yield any worthwhile results :(

also, what's the projected cost? can anyone point me in the right direction?

(I'm aiming for safe boost, not huge boost)

Well, you wouldn't be able to pay the fine. The car is too new for that to be allowed. Not sure about the 5,000mi thing... NJ, DE, NY PA, MD would all fail the car with this kit...

I personally haven't come to inspection time yet since my install... I am "exploring my options" currently.

On a side note. If you got the kit with guardian, you would just have to put the cat on and unbolt the BOV. The car would retune in a N/A state and would pass emissions then... However guardian, according to CN, won't be available till later this year to buy. If you wait till then you can get the kit $400 cheaper and it will include the guardian system.

Me personally - I may hope for the best this year and plan to have a guardian system by next year's testing and it won't be a concern...

tekgnosis,
You are correct in your assumptions. Guardian is self tuning and you would never need to dyno tune the car. It will adjust on the fly when/as necessary. I recommend you call cybernation for a price quote and time frame for release as no one but them knows for sure. Their website is: www.cybernationmotorsports.com
