Messing with the Details

I came up with the crazy idea of painting the plastic that connects to the side mirrors and the smaller piece in front of it to match the color of the car. Someone told me this might make it look like one HUGE mirror simply because of the way the trim surrounding the door meets with the mirror. I was wondering if anyone has attempted this yet, and if not... what do you guys think?? Thanks!

If it works it might look good but I dunno Id worry about it looking bad

I had the body shop do mine when it was in their shop, after my accident. and it looks good, just make sure it's blended well.
