hahahah... you should see their garage... unless they got real tools by now... but they arent a bad shop. jus wouldnt get anything installed there. not that they do f'd up work like dremelin the bolts off or anything... its jus that i got more tools at home than they did in their garage the last time i was out there... but then again... that was when they jus moved out to that new location... but it was funny how they were giving me really good prices while i hear them rippin off some other ppl when i was there...

I didn't buy the hubcentric rings...unless machiii sends them with the rims? I couldn't find where to order them separately since I didn't buy the tires from them. My friend has the same 15X7 rim, but in black, and hasn't noticed anything wrong without the hubcentric rings...I had heard the 15X7 was made mainly for hondas and acuras? Shit, so do you guys think I should buy some hubcentric rings?

02Silver,

I just put some 16x7 Slips on my car (only went with 205s though. :( )
and didn't use hubrings. Seems fine so far. Lots of debate about this
on honda-tech, but essentially if you torque your lugs down properly,
it shouldn't be a problem.
If you do find a place selling the rings, though, I'd like to order
some (the only reason would be so that it's easier to put them back
on the hub if you're by yourself and that they are so cheap).

I want to say the Rota's are like 65.something mm and our hubs are
56.1 (or whatever it says in that auction). It said it on the box
my Rota's came in, but those got thrown out. It might be on the
inside of the wheel on the sticker - let me know if you want me to go
take a pic of it/find out.

also, it could be different for me, seeing how I'll have the 15X7. I guess I'll find out if it's the right bore when I get the rim

Well, don't take my word for it. I'd ask machiii.net and see what they
say. Wish I still had those boxes, b/c I just took a look at the wheels
on my car and it doesn't say (I didn't pull them all the way off to
measure ;) ).

okay, here we go...from machiii.net
SLIPSTREAM 15X7 4X100 40 67.1 STL GRY That's for me
SLIPSTREAM 1670 4X100 45 FLTBLK Doesn't state the bore
SLIPSTREAM 1670 4X100 45 HB56.1 FLTBLK

So if you have the bottom ones (you have a 45 offset right? hope I wasn't wrong) you should be good to go since our hub is 56.1.

So I need to find a hubcentric ring that has an inner diameter of 56.1 and outter of 67.1.

My hubs are definitely smaller than the inner piece of the wheel. But
mine are "gunmetal" too and I'm guessing that is for Flat Black.
But 67.1 sounds right, if you find a set let me know.

Where? Off of eBay, or directly from their site?
I couldn't find any on eBay that were the right size/made to
fit Rota's.

If you read it, it says to let him know the car, and rims you are putting on.

The pics show two different sizes, it's just an example of what you'll get.

When I payed with paypal, I put in the remarks the size I needed, should work

hey 02silver...yea i've got th 45mm offset, but I since I bought the wheel/tire package from them, I got hub rings for free. I have them on, might as well put them on for peace of mind.

Oh btw, I disregarded your original question. I believe my slips took about 9 days to delivered from machiii.net. IIRC. They have some of the best service I've ever experienced. You will not be disappointed. You will love the wheels. Lemme know how you like the AVS ES 100s...I have the same tires but in 225/45/16 :)

I should have clarified, but I didn't use machiii.net. I bought
mine from a guy fairly local to where I live.
02Silver, if you want to sell me the rings you just bought, I do
paypal. ;)

Dont worry, extra hub centrics will come in handy... they can melt up on the front so bad you have to break them off.

yeah, if machiii.net throws them in, then I'll sell them to you for 10 shipped...I'll lose 5 bucks plus the shipping, but fuck it, better than nothing.

Machiii will only throw in the hub rings if you get a wheel/tire package..so 02silversihb, you won't get hubrings after all ;)

I'm on the opposite end of the country as machiii, so you should get the wheels much quicker seeing that you're only half as far away.

he said he sent them to me.

But get this, I got an email from the guy selling polycarbon ones...I wanted to see if he had any that fit the size I needed...this cracks me up, he kills his sells by saying this:
You don't really need them, they just help align the rim up better when you are putting it on...your lugs will make sure the rim is on there correctly.

So if you aren't experiencing any problems, I wouldn't worry about it.
This has been an on going debat...and if someone selling them tells me this, I guess that answers the question :D

Heh, maybe he's too lazy to ship.
I'm not really having any problems, except I am betting a bit of
wobble/shake at different speeds and I'm sort of wondering if it's
because one of my wheels isn't exactly lined up. I had the wheels/tires
balanced at a place that I know is reputable (they did the Rotas on
my WRX), but I dunno.
Plus, for $15, I figured it's worth a shot, plus it would make it a
tad easier to re-mount them when you're doing it by yourself.

Dunrick
03-02-2004, 05:26 PM
this has been covered before...they dont help you line the wheels up....

they keep pressure off the lugs...

it is just a bonus...never know...they wont HURT you.

Machiii is pretty good. Bought my rims from them at wholesale cost. 800 for 16" inch Rota Grid with 205/55 or 205/50 (I forgot) Yoko AVS ES100 tires, matching lug nuts and lock, and wheel covers. Mines didn't come with hub centric rings, had to buy em for 10 bucks off them. At times, I wish I got the oh so common slips instead of the Grid. One less spoke to clean, heheh. Looks plan, but still good. To bad my girl friend didn't agree with me. =(

I'd say get the rings, it's a peice of mind thing. Not worth screwing things up when a 10-20 dollar device can avoid that.
