No pricing info given, but it did produce 270HP to the wheels with an upgraded fuel system with fuel return line.

I was aware of turbo for RSX Type-S, but not one for the base RSX and Civic Si. These numbers were obtained on a K20A3 engine and if you look at other numbers posted, they look pretty much identical to the numbers from K20A2 and in some cases better than 240HP posted for Type-S from Greddy, which means that people who said that K20A3 with its lower compression would be better for turbo were right all along.

What is an average cost for a turbo kit?
Just curious. That is a huge HP gain.

yeah, that's why I'm glad I got the si. I know I'm going to go FI, so why worry about a type s with higher compression :)

it depends. Some come with everything you'd need for around 3k brand new.

hehe.. i made a deal with myself, i am not spending another cent on my car until the turbo's come out. then i will order a turbo, BOV(got to have one :) ) an intercooler, FULL exaust, and a couple other things. thats all i can think of for now. but my AEM CAI will go onsale for cheap then

high compression and boost is a good thing, NOT a bad thing.

If you tune it properly you'll be fine.

That's why all factory turboed cars run high compression. Yeah right. Turbo + high compression may only be good if you have access to high octane (100+) gas. Otherwise you will have to retard your timing so much that it's just better to lower your boost because your HP is the same either way.

well it depends on what you classify as "high compression" anything in the 10:1-11:1 range is fine for boost, up to a bar or so, after that you'll need to run non-pump gas.

People who think lower compression will allow you to run higher boost do not know how to tune an engine.

well, I don't think are compression is that low, but I do see what you mean. B16's and B18's have proven to run well with boost on stock internals at their compression.

thank you,

Engine management is the key. i.e. keep the Knock out!!

double digit boost figures on completely stock B16's and B18C5's are not a problem and with our compression figure (sub 10's) 1 bar should not be an issue, as long as the oil/water temps are managable and drivetrain hold out.

yeah, and tuning for sure. I know from my SOHC that blew the hell up after running on 10lb with a heavy ass foot :(

Wow, 270 hp!

I'm down for that, if I can save enough $ for it. :starting to drool:

270 whp to be precise. thats over 300 hp to the wheels isnt it!!!

would that be enough for 13 sec land? id be more than happy with a 13 sec 1/4 mi. 12 would be nicer but id settle for 13 sec.

I've always thought that whp (wheel hp, meaning to the wheels) is wheel horsepower. So it's 270 to the wheels, not 300

Yep, 270 whp and approx. 300hp...nice output!

yeah, I wonder what psi they were running. I was thinking, if I get a turbo, I want to daily drive with just 5lbs of boost, so I could be in the 14's. Wishfull thinking

would 7lb get you into 13s? what would it take to run 12s?

not sure yet.. i would guess more than the stock internals can handle, but we will see. Trust me, once i start something, i dont finish till its done. i am having a heart attack waiting for all of these parts to come out. but then again, it gives me some time to save $$ lol

I feel ya about the money thing :D
And yeah, stock internals probably couldn't handle a daily driven 12 turbo. I think 8lbs would be the most with full tuning...i.e. hondata. 5lbs would be safe as hell....I'll stick with that :D

is 1lb of boost good for 15 hp? i dont really undestand the boost to hp ratio. newb here

Did anyone ever say if they heard a price on the kit or the fuel management system? I know that HKS isn't cheap but didn't know how much the whole kit would be? Cause if its too much REV HARD said they are coming out with a turbo early next year. Also, was that 270 whp with intercooler? Probably, if so what size and how much boost?

Details are not available for the HKS turbo (kit) yet. Wait till after SEMA (click on the link in the first post for more).

you are right, you are the first to get into the 13's. congrats on that ;) i was soooo close to buying a direct port kit, but i had nitrous on my last car so i wanted to go a different route this time. i am waiting untill the turbos come out before i purchase anything else for my car. this way different setups will have been tested. until then, i remain slow... but wait a couple months hehe
