ok i have a vafcll
and i wanna know from those who have it properly installed
if theres any wires that i shouldnt have install and plus if i can get all the settings and tunning that was made on the vafcll. i saw some one said the can change to vtec point is that tru on not if share the info.
and as for cams
i recently heard that the type r cams are out for ep3s n that the rsx type r is the same as the ctr. what car does the rsx type r go to is it the rsx or rsx type

the K20A3 really doesn't have a VTEC engagement to speak of. under 2200 or so rpms, it's operating as a 12-valve engine (only one intake valve opens fully). above 2200 rpm, all 16 valves are used. there are no high- and low-lift/duration lobes.

there is no RSX Type R. it's the Integra Type R.

engine break down:

EP3/DC5 (base) = K20A3
DC5-S/EP3-R = K20A2
DC5-R = K20A

i forgot to mention the cams won't do you any good unless you get a K20A2 head swap and ECU. the rockers on the A3 head won't line up properly with A2 or A cams.

there's not a dual cam lobe profile? then they really cant call it a VTEC engine eh?

since there is a lobe switch, i guess *technically* you can say the A3 has VTEC, but it's VTEC-lite. it's not the VTEC most people think of when you think VTEC.

:)

it's like the engine in the super fuel efficent VTEC-e engine in the EH model, VX trim. i had that car and it got at least 45 mpg in city driving, and near 60 mpg on the highway.

so there ARE high/low lift duration lobes eh?

not really.

there's under 2200 rpm, the lobe only opens one intake valve (the second one essentially is useless at that engine speed). above, the lobe opens both. there is no difference in the lift/duration, just that the second valve is used. on the exhaust side, there is no VTEC mechanism.

stop trying to get by on all these damn technicalities.

:p :D
