where could i find info on that changes from 03 to the 04 ep3 ?
anything would help besides the obvious like changed headlights/tail lights and 5 lug compared to 4 lug. anything thing else ?

another quick question would all aero parts for the 03 and 02 civic fit onto a 04 ?

thanx guys

No. 2, I'm pretty sure not much was changed between the 02/03 and the 04s besides cosmetic differences like the head/tail lights, wheels, tires, suspension (isnt it lower? i think? could be wrong), 5 lugs, side sills and i think 04s get the cargo net free in the trunk included. woo! the body itself hasnt changed. although the headlights are the same shape, it would cost $1000 approx. to convert an 02-03 to an 04 cause of the new dual-beam low/high beam lights. however, the lens would fit, same with the tails. this even furthur proves that the body is the same, just menial stuff was done.

and that concludes my thesis. hah. god im tired ...

Nope. I didn't get a free cargo net, and it wasn't listed on the sticker either.

Is the 04 lower than 03? I know 04s have larger wheels but Im wondering if it's lower as well. I saw a past thread that asked this question, but I don't think we ever got an answer.

I'm going to be purchasing some 17s for my 04 for when the weather gets a little better around here. I don't think I will have to bother lowering it. The wheel gap actually doesn't look bad at all with the stock 16s.

What do you guys think?

Newbie question alert---->

Also living in the Boston area, I should probably get rims that are strong enough to endure all the freakin pot holes.

I really like these konig wheels for my black si: http://www.konigwheels.com/catalog_product_details.cfm?CategoryID=1&ss_id=284

Do you think the Konigs will be strong enough? Keep in mind that my fiancee drives the car about a 3rd of the time :)

I think I read in another thread that our 04s are heavier by 100 pounds or so. I dont think it has anything to do with cosmetics, though. :D

Hey, I have those rims on my car, and they endured the winter, and pot holes, very well. I had fairly Lo Pro tires on also, and no damage... I recommend them.

LannyM and myself were debating the same thing through PMs when he pointed out to me that '04 come stock with 205/55/16 tires. '02-03's come stock with 195/60/15 tires. When I went to tirerack.com, it shows 205/50/16 tires as the optional "proper" tire size for 16" wheels on the '02-03 Si. So that means there is a different sidewall height if you had 16" wheels on the '02-03 Si. We came to the conclusion that this is why there is less wheel gap on the '04 compared to the '02-03.

My dealership has a '03 leftover that's parked right next to a new '04 and they look pretty much the exact same height to me.

Could you say you preferred one to the other?

I think if the 04 was lowered, it would have been plastered on the top of every feature list Honda published... its not mentioned at all.

In my recent research on the Si, I never did come across anything that stated that the 2004 models were lower. The US does have ride height regulations, so I doubt Honda would go through the trouble of lowering the car, dealing with having the '04's meet the rules (maybe having to recertify the car with various US government agencies?) and then discontinuing production after 3-4 months.

Stoop is right. I agree that the proper "plus size" 16" tire for the 2002 and 2003 cars are 205/50 16. The 205/55 16 is .81 of an inch (almost an inch) taller than the 205/50 16 and the 205/55 16 is .67 of an inch taller than the 195/60 15" stock tire size of the 02-03 cars. You are allowed about a 7-10% difference in tire height before really affecting speedometer readings.

Maybe Honda chose the 205/55 16 tire for the 04's due to that size being really common...

If you guys go to the "SUSPENSION" section of the forums, you will see that someone with an 02-03 Si put on the 04 OEM suspension and his car is 1 inch lower. That isn't the HFP kit either... OEM :-)

Never mind. I didn't realize that you posted your info about the wheels in "rate and review" section which linked to your ride pics. :o

At least I didn't get anyone screaming at me to do a search. :D

Your car looks great, I really, really like the way the Holes look on it. I'm sold!

So you really think that they will be able to withstand these crappy ass Massachusetts roads? No matter how carefull you drive around here your bound to hit a pothole sooner or later. Many times they cover the hole lane and theres no avoiding them :p
