I am thinking of relocating my stereo from the center to the passenger side (above the glovebox and below the airbag). Does anyone know if there is enough space (depth wise) for a single din stereo to fit? I will have to fabricate something to replace the shelf that is currently there.

Interesting idea, but wont that be a bit of a reach?

im not worried about the reach, since my deck plays mp3s and i have a remote I do not change cds very often.

I'm just curious but why would you want it over there. Thats like mounting it the back seat it doesnt do any good over there. what would you put in the factory space

ahh sweet sounds good...ive felt behind there a couple times, it does appear to have enough space, because it hits some reinforcements and ducting but than again i could be wrong.

if youre using a single din sized fold out screen, you could fit both your monitor and cd player in the factory location. the factory hole will fit 2 din or 1 double din sized unit(s). most double din sized monitors now almost always have a built in cd/dvd/mp3 player so you wouldnt have to reuse your other cd player.

its true that i could just buy the right equipment to make it all fit in the double din space, but this is more fun. That is why i have this car...its to tinker around with (and commute)
