Just finished tuning a RevHard Turbo EP3 using the new Hondata KPro software. We only ran 7.5lbs of boost and the car has a Greddy exhaust (restrictive). The car was tuned using our in-house Mustang Chassis dyno.

This ECU is incredible... the ablility to tune cam position opens up a whole new world of possibilities. This product alone will make the Honda K-series powered cars the number one choice for the consumer looking to build a fast street or race vehicle.

Hmm, nice tq curve. What do you think it would have dyno'd out to on a dynojet....and how much more do you think you can pull out of it before it's gonna need new internals?

You can't compare dynos. I have seen different Dynojets read differently.

I think your pushing the limits running anymore than 10psi on pump gas. Which should put you at about 270whp on our dyno.

How did you get the kpro to work with the A3? Did you run into any problems? Was it made out of the A2 or the A3 ecu?

We had to retune all the maps for the A3.

The only "Problem" is that the lowest you can engage/tune highcam is
at 3000 rpm.

We used an A2 ECU, but the A3 will work.

I would recommend waiting untill the A3 specific KPro is available.

Do you know if the A3 unit will be able to support the A2 if I decide to do a head swap later on. I am pretty sure it will. I just want to make sure I will be able to keep my plan for future mods. Is the 3000 engagement point hurting anything performance wise? Would it be better if it was lowered below factory specs, say like 1800(since it is just an idle lobe).

You will be able to put whatever program you want in it just like the standard OBDI units. The only reason that we are running the A2 based program is that Hondata does not have the A3 code tested yet.

The 3000 rpm switch over is hurting it a little, but it is not noticeable drive the car.

i notice you got 244hp at 7.5lbs of boost... with revhard...

didn't the greddy turbo (a weaker turbo) with hondata get 240hp with only 6.5lbs of boost?

that was the point of the Dyno Comparison link he also included in his post.

Payntech's car was dyno'd on Mustang dyno, which measures power differently than a Dynojet (which may have been the dyno used for Greddy's turbo). so you have to expect differences in output measured by the two dynos.

Is that still using the Rev Hard FMU or is it all through the K-Pro?

The revhard does not use an FMU, it comes with the old Hondata reflash and 440cc injectors.

So you did not use any sort of engine management other than K-Pro? Does this mean that all the people wanting to do custom turbo kits finally have an answer other than the usual piggy-backs?

The only engine management on the car was Hondata KPro.

I would wait until Hondata comes out with their EP3 KPro.

I can't wait either. I am still able to afford it even after my intake manifold broke(Hondata gasket). So that makes me very happy.

Is there a release date set yet for the A3 K-Pro?
