K20A JDM DC5R
K20A1 JDM Civic Type R
K20A2 European CTR & RSX Type S

JDM DC5R 220 ps
JDM CTR 215 ps (212 hp)
Euro CTR 200 ps (197 hp)

All Type R's have a 6 speed manual transmission with LSD (except Euro CTR)


That's all I have off the top of my head.


Please add MORE JDM engine info. and if there is any wrong info plz correct me.

for some reason the Japanese always keep the best engine to themselves,:confused: , but we could always get the Jdm type-R engine in US that cost a grip.

i was wondering how much $$$ would each one of those run you, and from what reputable source would you get it from. because i was thinking of just possibly tossing my SI engine into an EK now that there are mounts out for that kind of transplant

you can pick up a dc5-r engine for around 5k-5.5k its seems pricy but if you get 3k for your engine the extra 65 horses are well worth 2k. And remember somebody on this board has a dc5-r engine swap with h/i/e and hondata and ran a low 13 almost hit a 12. I would rather have the swap for the money than a turbo. More reliable and really good gains.

Thats the spec for the JDM car, the UKDM cars DO NOT have a LSD. Just as we don't have the Momo wheel, the Recaro seats etc....

The Honda website is wrong. The early press cars in the UK had LSD and that spec was for the press cars, we do not have LSD but we wish we did.

The only cars in the UK that have the Momo wheel and the Red recaros as standard were the 30th Anniversary Editions of which there are only 300, 100 in each colour, red, sliver and black.

The JDM cars are putting out a bit more power than the UK cars due to slightly different internals and the fact they run on a higher octane fuel than the UK cars.

Siman before you start telling people they're wrong... Jontis is pimpin a Type R and he said they don't have one... and Hasnic (also pimpin a Type R) can tell you that the UK version of the CTR doesn't have an LSD... so take it from the owners of CTRs they know their car better than we do.

Can any of you CTR owners put up some UK CTR Specs so I can put it up top? Thanx

also, the JDM CTR DOES NOT HAVE ANYTHING DIFFERNET done internally to the motor...the ECU is tuned to run 100 octane or whatever the Japs use....

its still a K20A2....same cams, pistons, rods, crank, block, head size...just the ECU is different...

and 215 PS is 200 HP....PS is NOT equal to HP

200*1.0139= 202.78PS

now...

215[ps] devided by 1.0139=212.05HP.....OCTANE CAN BOOST YOU 10 HP with the aid of a HIGH compression motor....as such with the K20A2's
11.0-1 compression!!

Wish it did but no CTR sold buy honda in the UK has a LSD, only cars with aftermarket LSD or JDM cars in the UK have them.

The engine in the JDM CTR is the K20A not the K20A2, hence it pushes out more power than the UK CTR.

The JDM car has 215PS which is 212HP, the UKDM car has 197HP which is near enough 200PS;)

The only reason why Honda didnt bring the CTR over is because not many people here in the US would shell out $24,000 for a Civic.$hit, I paid $16,500 for mine. Its a completely different market. Specially when Honda has Acura here in the states selling the type S. Hopefully someday Honda will see the light but 4 now the closest things to JAP spec cars are the Evo and STI. imo Honda should learn from Mitsu and bring on all their stuff.

the usdm evo and sti is not even close to jdm evo and sti, my friend has a evo VII (by the way you is selling his jdm evo VII rims) when it was stock, a lot of usdm moded evo went at us, the closest one is one that had complete downpipe to straight pipe exhaust, intake, headers, boost control set at 1bar, while we were running 9psi and the only mod that time was bilstein race full coilovers, by the time we hit thrid gear, we were 3 car space in front of him. if you guys decide to buy the rims, you guys will see the car..... the evo VIII in jap has super ayc and acd the usdm evo has none of that. the 1/4 time for the evo VIII in japan is 12.89 stock and the usdm is 13.3-4.... .45sec is a lot of difference...

the closest thing that we have comparing to jdm is the fairlady to the Z, udsm itr to the 96spec jdm itr, new line of s2ks.... or through the sti here is fast as hell with its 2.5 turbo 300hp, the jdm 2.0 turbo calms to have 280hp but hks, apex and hong kong gtsport dyno it and it has 309.6hp was the highest in three runs, and the lowest was 307.8hp....
