Those of you who have or are planning to install an A2 or A should also use a cold air intake designed for that engine. The AEM cai for the Si is 2.5" in diameter, the Type S version is 3". Because of the larger diameter, there is less clearance in the engine compartment. I won't go through the whole install because that's been covered before. In order to provide enough clearance between the cai tubing and the fan motor (on the front side) and the transmission shift lever (on the rear side), I had to make this clearance cut in the inner wheelwell. The spot welds were only slightly cut so no strength was lost.

This allowed positioning the cai tube so that there's about 1/2" of clearance between the fan motor and trans lever. The tubing doesn't rub on anything in the engine compartment. I covered the metal edge with rubber tubing so that it doesn't rub a hole in the cai tubing.
Here's the cai installed:

I also installed a stud to mount the cai and used rubber bushings to allow some movement. The plastic fender liner needed some trimming to fit properly. Not sure how other brands of Type S cai's would fit, but the AEM works great and only cost me $50.
