ok i know there have probably been threads on this before and i appologize, but i was wondering, which would be better? a Turbo or Supercharger....

i want to have the most hp i can get, and they're both relatively the same price, if i go turbo would i have to have anything else for it to work properly? or is there any specific parts i'll need to buy for it to work as well. is the turbo timer helpful? or pretty much not necessary for a while down the road. and how much about would it cost for install?

i would prefer something that wouldn't require a ton of maintenence thats why the supercharger is somewhat appealing, but i kinda like the power gains shown from the turbo, are there any changes i could make to reach about the same hp as the turbo? about how much would it cost for the install of this ?

thanks for any help i can get!

as long as your not a dumb ass you will be cool I am new to the game I just ordered my greddy kit but from what I understand its all about what you want. All the kits are good I was torn between CN, Greddy for a long time.

If you go with the Cybernation you will not pass, unless you have a hook-up. Cybernation = no cat.

eesh that might not be good...i didn't know that...is there any way i could put 1 on and still get good boost? or is it just not possible at all? or not even worth it

granted my friends dad is a mechanic and he'd hook me up, i could always do it that way

Although I'm talking out of my ass since I have not had any experience with it ... the best bang/buck is the rsx-s brakes which require the 5 bolt conversion ... search around, there are a couple of guys who have done it.

For brakes, go for the Rotora. It's about 1300 and some change and they come with the lines. I think they're braided stainless.

thats not a bad deal to come with the lines too,my friend paid 500 just for his lines for his car

what it all comes down to if you want to pass state inspection you can only go Greddy or JRSC. With a I?C you can put down a good amount of power its said at 8psi and I/C Greddy will put down 260WHP. Thats just what has been said.

well that wouldn't be bad at all, id like that a lot, and i could probably upgrade down the road too, plus the greddy + ic kit is still less than the stage 1 from cn ...very good idea

that is what I was thinking when I picked up the kit I feel greddy fits my needs the most.

would the greddy boost controller or turbo timer be helpful too?

Your brakes are fine. Do you plan on racing with this car? If so, then I would recommend doing a brake upgrade. Otherwise, its like cutting holes in your pocket.

Sounds like another Greddy Turbo EP in the mix. Enjoy and join the growing crowd.

i'm strongly considering it definately an option for me, i'm impressed so far

but about the racing, thats a definately, the only thing is it won't be for a while, it'll be in a few more months after i get some more mods on ;) then i'll get my slicks and head for the track!

HELLO!?!? OK i love how no one mentions the REV HARD turbo kit for our cars.... greddy's kit is alright but u need an intercooler and bov.. cybernation is a shitload of money but quality work..rev hard is a good kit comes with almost everything.. i already looked into all the turbo kits and the jackson racing supercharger.

Turbo ups: great power, best bang for the buck,
Turbo downs: semi/synthetic oil, premium gas, worrying, tuning, you wont be a sleeper, harder to install

Supercharger ups: affordable, decent power, no tuning, not much worrying, silent, easy install

Supercharger downs: not as fast as turbo,

I understand what your saying but those who responded to the original question own Greddy Kits and not Rev Hard. Those who own Rev Hard kits can post about those.

For the Greddy kit, very little tuning is required if you just want the kit as it is. If you looking to push more power than the dyno is what you want. With just the reflash and the Greddy IC'd kit, will be plenty for most.

As for the supercharger, don't forget you should use premium fuel because you are forcing more air into the motor which is a recipe for detonation on low grade fuel. Lastly, nothing was mentioned about replacing the pulley belt for the charger. About every 15,000 miles. BTW, I would use synthetic oil with the charger as well. If JR says don't then I would follow what they say but synthetic is best. It boils down to install and what performance your looking to get.
