View Full Version : Installed Greddy Intercooler!

The intercooler is mounted. However, the return piping will not allow the bumper beam to be put back in its original space. Anyone install the Greddy front mount yet? If so, did you have this problem?

Everything lines up with the brackets and the intercooler. The bumper beam hits the top half of the return piping. If I don't put the beam on, and just install the bumper, the bumper hits the inlet piping and bulges out. I don't understand why. Everything is installed but my bumper and the wiring to the ECU.

Any help?

Got any pictures? Maybe we can spot something easier if we can see it.

Its been a day and a half. Greddy hasn't called back so I cut a piece of the bumper beam off to make it fit. There goes my crash rating :(

Car should be running by the end of the day.

Can you post a pic of the intercooler mounted without the bumper (the urethane one) on? I really want to see how you mounted it.

Ditto.
It sounds like you could have installed the IC too far out.

I can't post a pic. I don't have the digital camera software installed on this computer here at home. I will post it next week for all those who want to see. The intercooler looks sweet tucked in there.

More later for you guys.

The pics that someone is hosting for me are of the intercooler installed. The charge pipe stuck out to far and contacted with the bumper beam. To fix I notched the bumper beam so the pipe could fit as well as the bumper beam. Fits well beside that. I called Greddy about the problem, they promised to call me back. Never heard from them. That's what I did to fix the problem. Anyone else with the Greddy IC have this problem?

Thats ok Jon, I copied the URL's into another window to see them. Its just ridiculous that imagestation makes you go through that. Nice looking car man and keep us updated with the turbo.

Where did you mount the IC from? I actually used the bumper support to mount mine(Spearco). Then, I put on my pipping parallel behing the bumper support.

looks sweet as hell. How much was the I/C with all the piping?
Thanks,
Steve O

If you look closely in this picture, I used the hole that is threaded directly below the horn on both passenger and driver sides.

Greddy kit came with brackets but no instructions and Greddy never returned my phone calls. I would guess the way you installed it should be how it is done. However, it looks like to me that my neck on my return of the intercooler is much bigger/thicker.

IC $746 I believe.

Installed Magnaflow exhaust on Friday. Today (sunday) was test and tune at the local strip. However, it was cancelled due to the weather again. I may or may not go for grudge racing on wednesday. All depends on how much work I get done sunday and monday.

I'll post some pics up later for you guys. I have only put 25 miles on the car since the exhaust install. As for the install, it took me 15 minutes with a lift and power tools. Very simple install.

On a side note, yesterday I raced my bro's GN. He recently put Champion Iron heads with big valves on the car. He was running 17 lbs of boost to my 7 lbs. We started from a roll at about 20. I stayed with him (door to door) until about 80 mph when he lunged ahead quickly. Keep in mind, he had to lift off of it lots of times because the GN was fish tailing all the way up to 70 mph or so. The GN came very close to hitting my car when it was fish tailing. Can't wait to see what that car does at the track. Mine too ;)
