1st gear problems [Archive]

just wanted to know if any of you have problems with first gear, before it was just every now and then that my first gear wouldnt go in from a complete stop, I would have to let off the clutch and try again and then it would go in but now it more often, have any of you guys have this problem? Is this something I should take to honda? or is the car really like this, I have 20K on the car right now.

It is probably because of the really agressive first gear. Seems normal to me.

Got a new master cylinder and my problem went away.

Sometimes I have to put it in second before I can put it in first.

this has been an issue with every honda i've owned (92 Integra, 93 EH and 02 EP). every now and then, the synchros just wouldn't be aligned and i couldn't get into first gear, even at a complete stop.

i doubt it's a major issue, just a nuisance.
