I know there might be some other threads but I just want some opinions on what kind of tires I should be getting if I want good traction, lots of tread life, and a good price. The size I need are 215-45-17. Thanks in advance

i would go with yoko es100's if i were you, i am on my second set now. I had them in 195/60/15 on the stockies and now im on 225/45/16 with my slips, i love these tires and i will probably never change until they are discontinued.

Beyond "good traction" and "long life," what else do you want in a
tire? Do you want cheap tires? The Yoko's are probably a good choice,
I always liked the Kumho Ecsta 712s myself.
If price isn't an issue, go with some higher end Bridgestones/Pirelli's/Michelins.

EDIT: Also, tirerack.com has LOTS of user reviews on each tire on
their site. Punch in your size and read up, I'm sure you'll find
someone who was looking for just what you want in a tire and talked
about their choice and how they liked it.

I'm shopping around right now too, and my top 3 choices are:

1. Bridestone S03's
2. Yokoham AVS ES100's
3. Kumho MX KU's

same size tire as you... the s03's are damn expensive.. but have gotten amazing reviews', the yok's and the MX's are cheaper and have gotten great reviews as well.. I think any of the 3 I would be happy, just if I wanna save a bit of $ ..
