It depends on the tires you run and the offset.

I think you will need something like a 37+ offset, and nothing wider than a 205. My rims are 40+ offset and they rub a tad when it's fully turned on 215/45's. (lowered on progress)

well....i dunno, myeverlovin is running 235/40's. I want to see more info on this too.

Look at it this way: 8 inches is 203 mm. As long as you're using a 205 or wider tire, clearance isn't any worse on an 8 inch wide rim than a 7. The concern though is the offset: Since an 8 inch wide rim is 25.4 mm wider than a 7 inch rim, you want that extra width extending toward the outside, not toward the strut. For that, a lower positive offset number would be better: low to mid 30s, not 40+.
