Ok here a nices question that i searched for and could not seem to find the answer to. If we for whatever reason needed to gap our spark plugs, what would be our gaping specs? and also when we modify our cars, intake header, exhaust etc.. do those gaping specs need to change? hehe lets see if this stumps some people cause it sure as hell stumped me! uno!

the sparkplugs with the really small tip on the electrode end, you dont gap those, they are pregapped, if you gap it with a gaping tool you might damage the electrode

The stock plugs require a gap of 1.0-1.1mm

If the gap exceeds 1.3mm, change them.

I have found that the OEM plugs are quite good and JSIR found that using aftermarket cooler plugs did not provide any gains, iridium or platinum. I plan to stick with the stockies for replacement even with boost.

I hope people relize that our stock plugs are iridium.

Yes, they are usually Denso Iridium, but the NGK Iridium plugs are just as good. Using anything other than Denso or NGK in a Honda or Acura is asking for problems.

Our cars don't need a tune-up until 100,000 miles... I can't remember, but where is the spark plugs located in the k-series?

For boosted applications you need a closer gap. For N/A you need a farther gap. I don't know for certian what stock is, but somewhere around .38-.40 is good.

You should never need to gap plugs, they recommend that you don't be it NGK, Denso or Bosch. Unless you did some damage or bent a lead you should never have to gap them. Stock gapping again is 1.0-1.1mm for N/A.

Don't know where you get .35 from but 1mm = .03937" and 1.1 = .04330"

Conversion factor is 1" = 25.4mm;)

A dime is about 1mm thick so use that as a yardstick.
