I need some help. I have Ground Controls and my spring hat that mounts at the top of the spring and holds the coil in place shattered (while I was driving) the other day. I pulled the pieces out and looked at them. The piece looked like it was to position the spring up in the wheel well and help it rotate smoothly. I called Ground Control and told them that I needed to order that part and they told me that for the 2002+ Si it should not be black plastic but should be aluminum (silver or gold in color). They told me that I was sold the wrong parts. Is this right? Did showstoppers sell me the wrong springs? Can anybody here tell me what color and material their spring hat is?

hopefully this picture will work. I'm talking about the plastic cap at the top of the spring. Not the Gold aluminum at the bottom. Is this what everyone else has?
let me know. thanks.

its not only the spring hat. how low are they set? are they dumped all the way? do you have stock struts?

sometimes when they are totally dumped on stock struts the coil is lowered then the struts sits so you will get some rattling or the spring popping out of its position. i say get some after market kybs or koni's or something and dont have it dumped all the way. but thats if it was your situation.

One of mine broke, too. Only about a quarter of it shattered off, so I just had the rest of it still on. Worked fine.
