Has anybody put a V-AFC on their car yet? My shop told me that the 2k2Si V-AFC is the same one that has been out for a long time. The only difference is the wiring in the ECU. They are only waiting for the new wiring diagram before they start hooking it up. Dammit, i shouldn't have sold mine if i new it would work with our new i-VTEC. How come I heard that APEX was making a spacific one for our cars on this site or am I wrong.

"afc controller"

-the SAFC apexi is stricly a piggy back fuel controller which probably will work on our ecu's (not sure though)
-the VAFC is a whole other unit with VTEC control, which i dont believe will be able to work on our i-VTEC cars due to the fact that there really isnt a "preset" engagement point for VTEC --joe :)

hope that clears things up a bit.
BTW : what were the numbers the si put down with those mods.

I don't have it in front of me and could be way off, but I think it was 11 or 12 hp and 8 or 9 lbs/ft torque

that's not really impressive. miamijdm got about 19 to the wheels with a I/H/E setup. So does the apexi kill horsepower
Here's the link to miamijdm's horsepower numbers:

Thanks, that is what I meant. I guess I'm a little "auto-centric."

im in class right now but from what i remmeber i think its +8hp for the intake, +2 for the afc, and something like +1.7hp with the apexi exhaust, not sure though. dont really believe their article though.

the apexi rep guy that I talked to in person at the houston Import expo show told me that with a bone stock Si they dynoed around 10whp. That is the only mod done to it. It is a new V-AFC.

i had a vafc and sold it because i called apex in about may and asked them if my vafc would work for the ep and they said no it wouldnt work because of the fact that our si's dont have TRUE vtec. Hope this clears up.
an safc should work from what i was told but i'll just wait for the new vafc.
