View Full Version : Wednesday night = TERRIBLE!

Well here are some pics of my crappy Wednesday night. With < 3000k miles my Civic got to meet a guard rail intimately. Rain + gravel covered country roads = DAMNIT!

The shittiest part is that I was not intoxicated in any form, I was not speeding, and I was paying attention. :(

Just my damn luck!

im sorry to see that, and not trying to be a biznotch, but obviously, you were going to fast for condition (weather and/or road).

Be happy no one was injured, claim the insurance, get it fixed, and take it as a lesson learned.

glad your ok.

Yeah, physically we are both fine. Seat belts were on and it was relatively slow speed impact. My airbags didn't even go off.

I totally agree with the too fast for conditions statement, but its damn near impossible to judge that when you're cruisin along fine then hit a patch of gravel like that. I am contacting a lawyer to see what my options are about getting PennDOT to pay some of my deductable.

Maybe some good can come from it. Has anyone seen any neat aftermarket fenders? haha

Also, does anyone know the cost of the 04 OEM rims? I need 2 and I think it might be cheaper to get after market rims also.

The Suggested Retail price for the '04 OEM rims from Honda is $222.88 each.

Hope this info helps.

silverepindc - DC is a decent place. I make the journey once in awhile to hit up the night life. I went to Nation (familiar with it?) 2 weekends ago.

The most I will end up paying out of pocket is my $500 deductable. Then assuming my insurance company doesnt drop me my rates will increase.

Thanks for the OEM prices guys. I'm gonna see what the autobody shops say about aftermarket replacements. I don't know what the deal is with doing that along with insurance money.

I haven't had a chance to get any estimates. I work 8 - 5 M - F and thats when all the body shops around here are open too. This weekend was bad because I had to move so getting an estimate was the last thing on my mind. I'll keep you guys updated.

Sorry about the lost bud. What tires are on the 04s again?

Good time for JDM bumpers!?
Looks like you've got a good couple of grand worth of damage! :(

s10blazed
03-29-2004, 08:33 AM
The tires are Michelins but I don't recall what model off-hand. I'm not familiar with any aftermarket parts so I don't know what the JDM bumper looks like. I'm new to the rice burner scene, haha. I'm a minitrucker that made the leap. I've been intentionally not researching parts for this thing until now because I know I would want to buy them all.

JDM bumpers are much better lookcing, Much cleaner then USDM, they are how they look in japan/europe... lucky for you (AND ME) since u have a black EP, you wont have to paint them, as they come prepainted from honda in NBP... heres some pics

Hmmm, not too bad. I will have to see if they'll swap it for me. I really don't have a preference between the two but if the JDM one is less common I'm all for that one. I got my estimate today. The insurance company is sending their own adjuster to verify and compare. Last time they did they ended up adding in more costs so no biggy. Hope to get it under the knife ASAP.
