Another EP Bites the dust

Well, I've been meaning to post this for a month or so, but I didn't have any pictures until today. Anyways, a month or so ago, I traded my 02 SI in for a 04 SRT-4. I had a number of problems with the EP, and was just looking to get out of it. I test drove the SRT and I was immediately hooked. I'll be the first to admit that the SRT isn't as "classy" as the civic, but I'm having an absolute blast with the SRT. I miss the tranny and the interior, but am overall happier with the neon. The EP will always hold a special place in my heart as it was my first new car. I still spend alot of time on the forums here (even if I don't post a whole lot). I try to back up the EP whenever people start talking trash about it on SRTforums. The off topic forum here owns the one over there (although they do have a whole forum dedicated to porno:D ) Anyways guys, I plan on sticking around because for the most part you guys(and gals) are cool, and I may even check out a texas meet if any are close by. So, here are the pics...it's stock, so don't expect to see anything you haven't seen before.

There are days that I miss her, but I'll just plant my right foot and listen to the sinister turbo hiss and I feel better. That, and having four doors comes in handy from time to time. I still think EP's are cool, they turn my head every time I see one:cool:

from the title of the thread i thought it was possibly a wrecked EP...but just traded in for a SRT-4...good to see that the EP is ok and it and you have moved on...congrats on the new car enjoy

Does this car basically have the same dimensions and set up as the SXT and the other neons? Just different seats? I got it as a rental 2 weeks ago and that rear pillar is right on your head if you're over 5 foot 5. Talk about safety and comfort. Not to mention that the SXT was the biggest piece of shit I'd ever driven. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

How does the SRT's fit and finish compare? If it's like that car, I don't care if it ran 4's and was a street car, I'd NEVER buy it.

Well, I had tons of fit and finish issues with my EP (rattled and squeaked like an old pickup). But to answer your question, no, the SRT-4 is not on par interior wise with cars like the Civic SI, or the Mazda 3, or the Toyota Matrix. I don't think that the interior of the SRT-4 is as bad as people like to believe, but that's just my opinion. In my personal experience, I would put the interior on the level with a Sentra or a WRX (having ridden in both). But to be honest with you, when I went out car shopping, I had to decide whether I wanted fun or luxury (I wasn't looking to drop the kind of coin on a car that it would take to get both) and I chose fun. I think the civic has a nice balance of fun and luxury, but the niceties didn't really appeal to me. Oh, I'm 6'2" and I don't have a problem with the back seat, but I wouldn't want to be back there for a cross country trip. I don't have my camera with me, and I'm housesitting, I'll try to get some interior shots in the next couple of days. This is what I have now.

man i really really really really really miss my ep, i have a type-s now, but there was just something about the ep, since i first saw it and when i first drove it, so what if it was slow and didnt handle that good it was all good. everytime i see a black one i get remined of mines with the hks hi-power and tein springs, which i just found out only lower it but dont help with performence lol. you my friend are going to end up missing your ep in the long run, trust, well expcept when u are breaking evos and wrx's off :D

The same seats are available on both models. I have the "viper inspired" seats on mine, I like them almost as much as my EP's seats. The SRT seats are more aggressive, but the EP seats are better for long trips.

Check your vacum lines man. At only 3k miles I had 3 vaccum lines 1/2 way of the seats. Ziptie them badboys. (hose clamp the turbo ones.)

Good to see another SI -> SRT convert.
