Type-S Tranny

Will a Type-S tranny bolt right up to our engines? Would we see an improvement if we did the swap?

Yes, you would DEFANITLY see an improvment. (you might wanna cough up the extra $$$ for the CTR 6-speed with the LSD).

And from what i hear, direct bolt on, but very labor intensive.

What is the price difference from the Type-S tranny and the CTR?

I would forgo investing in the type-S tranny and get the DC5R tranny. With the type-S tranny you loose in 3 ways, less aggressive gears than the DC5R, lower final drive than the stock tranny and no LSD. Ebay is a good starting point.

Can I get it from any other place then eBay? I know eBay gets them once in a while, but an actual site that sells Type R engines and trannies with reasonable prices?

If you do get a CTR tranny make sure it's a JDM CTR, those are the CTRs with the LSDs and 4.764 final drive. The UK CTRs have the same tranny as the US RSX-S. However, all ITRs had a LSD with the 4.764 final drive.

But I honestly don't think you'll need a shorter gearing tranny with the 4.764 final drive because your redline is only 6800 RPMs :( Maybe with Hondata the swap is worth it cause you will be able to go to 7700 RPMs.
