View Full Version : exhaust tip too hot

my muffler i just installed is pinned right up against the bottom of my kit. is there any thing i can put in between so it wont burn the kit?

yea they have those metal pieces that protect that but im not too sure where to get them....

see if you can bend the hangers so it hangs a little lower, youll have to heat 'em with a torch, but you can do it, or easier yet, go to a chain auto store and see if they have rubber hanger bushings that are maybe 1/2"-3/4" longer than stock, that should do it too

Exactly. I had to do the same with my last EX. Worked like a charm :)

ditto, i had an 01 EX coupe and when i put my DC exhaust on it was a litte high(close to the bumper) and a little off center, so i just heated it and voila!

stick something inside the hangers... whatever you can find... it lowers it about half an inch...

i swear i thought this topic was gonna be about how the tip is hot and you werent sure if it was normal. i was gonna be like "well they do call it an internal COMBUSTION engine for a reason!" :D

i vote for bending the hangers.

i was envisioning an ep with an exhaust tip that was glowing red hot and the bumper was beginning to melt
