i'd be interested in what types of trim levels they have over there in europe.

the badges are kinda... well... not great for a sohc but what's more suprising is how nice those wheels are and how... not to my liking that front lip is.

on the plus side the interior looks great and good choice in suspension.

don't worry about the negative responses from all of us americans, we're just so used to the drivers over here putting badges on cars that never even had the badges trim level(like an ek coupe with a type r or prelude type r) put those badges on their cars then drive terribly and endanger all the other people on the road.

D17 is an SOHC engine code sold in normal civics in the states. What engine does the EP2 come with?
Nice bumper too. A while back there was a thread about the TSS front bumper. I think the guy who got it had to go through hell to get it, I believe its fiberglass and cost about $400.

in Europe there are no Civic SI, :(

Maybe you can keep the car seeing how it's the platform you've allready started on and check on e-bay for an a-2 or 3 and not even bother with the 18's. Just my thoughts. good luck.

Hey man the car looks good. Who cares if you got a TypeR badge as long as you like it. Most people won't even know if it's CTR or not.
I have a question for anyone, though. If Ep3 is the chassis code... how is swapping your engine going to affect it? It's still a Civic Si, SiR or CTR, whatever. Only the engine is different.
I am just wondering why the hell you would swap a k-series motor out of it, and for a SOHC. I mean you got a lot of room under the hood for mods it looks like, but how much horse does that have already? oh and the guage clustering necessary to go with the engine looks real bad, too. heh, and 6k rpm redline? :confused: that's no fun!

You have a d16 and we have a k20-A3 and the type-r has an A2 which is also found in the Acura rsx type-s, and the dc5 integra type-r has the k20-A. You would have to get hassport motor mounts and it looks like your battery is on the opposite side. Chances are is they carry the type-r your way you could probally find a wrecked type-r and swap the engine, tranny, ecu, guage cluster, seats, and 5-lug conversion if you get lucky enough to take the whole car like some on this site have, and for a super low cost at that.
Something to think about seeing how that sohc is very limited. Good luck on whatever your decision is.

The hatchback body style is very common in Europe, with very few coupes and sedans until you get into a higher-end model. Since the hatchback is very popular, many manufacturers offer several engines. As far as the D16 in that EP2 platform: I believe it is a de-stroked version of our D17 in the '01 and newer Civics, but still different than our D16s from '88-'00. Also, bodykits, scoops, spoilers, wings, dual exhaust, etc... is also very popular over there because of restrictive vehicle registrations. Rather than pay gigantic bucks for the ability to add lots of power, they go cosmetic. Pick up an issue of Max Power UK, you'll see what I'm talking about. All the stuff we consider rice is the 'in trend'.:)

yea dude read the rest of the posts. the car has a single cam D16, making about 105hp id say?
