I bought nemesisitr's hondata ecu from him.

I called the dealership to have the immobilizer bypassed, and the guy basically told me it wouldnt work.

He claimed that since the ecu came out of an 03 si, then it won't work on my 02- because the 03 ecu's are 'different'. This sounds like complete BS to me.

He also said that once the hondata ecu is compatible with my car, I won't be able to use my original ecu anymore. He said something about the codes changing every 24 hours.

WTF. I'm taking this thing in, but this is going to work....right?

I think he is feeding you a line of BS. Call other honda dealerships.:)

none of the other ones will do it. They straight up told me no. :(

I figured that I would still be able to swap out my stock ecu, but he said that the key has to be programmed to the ecu, not the ecu to the key.

talk to Sone Mala at David McDavid Honda. Tell him its my ECU.

Thats BS. The only thing different about the ECUs is the serial #'s :p I'm sure Hondata will do it for you for a small fee. But you'll have to send in your ECU and immobilizer.

The ECU is programmed to recognize the immobilizer (This is true cause immobilizers can go bad). The key is not programmed to the ECU, it's programmed to the immobilizer so whoever told you the key is programmed to the ECU is full of stinky crap.

So ya, i just got back. Guy felt kind of dumb when he told me the tech started it right up.

Took them about 30 minutes.

Charged me 88 bucks.

Nemesisitr's hondata ecu- $300
Dealership fee for coding- $88
Trying to run from an M5 on the way home at 7700 rpm- priceless.

I need to get a spare ecu, saving money for a turbo kit.
