I acquired hondata as of last weekend and almost feel bad for revving the shit out of my car.....I need feedback.

Well, my baby was doing fine until one of my buddies blew the motor A couple weekends ago. He took off hard in first and bounced the rev limiter a few times in first (Hondata'd ECU).

Yah, that sucks oog, glad to hear it is getting fixed, though.

I rarely redline it with Hondata - unless I'm jumping on the highway,
there's not much room on the roads to blaze up to 7700 in 2nd gear.
I will do it if a friend who hasn't ridden in my car yet comes along
with me to the store, as I did the other day.
I will hopefully be hitting redline in 1st/2nd at this weekends
autocross (OK, doubtful about 2nd).

I don't push it past an indicated 7500...which is like 7300 realtime rpm i guess? Idunno, past that it just seems to have that nasal hum the type S has and looses power quuiiiick. I do that usually once-3 times a day :D

Oogy, details? Link?

Even when I ran the 7800rpm redline (Hondata flash), I rarely hit the rev limit. I have yet to hit it now (K-pro). Power drops off after 7500rpm anyways. I imagine that will change with boost. My natural shift point is about 7k when I push it. (vtec engagement is set at 4300rpm)

If you are running Synthetic oil then dont feel bad reving your motor to 7500.

Is it the short stroke or the valve train that went boom?

My car loves redline, its there easily a few time a day. Just make sure your oil level is right and its changed on time and you should be ok. When running it hard I usually shift just before an indicated 7800-7900 rpms on the tach.

Well I cant say I redline often if at all. But when I feel pretty daring and I got some fool trying to goose at me I might come off the line at about 38/3900 RPM. I know I know but this is when I really wanna show em whos boss. HAHAHA call me crazy but thats just my nature.

Well that's what happens when the rpms ping off the limiter like that, but I'm glad to see that it is being covered.

I would also reccommend getting upgraded valves, valve springs and retainers if you want to redline it all day.

I probably take my car to redline waaaay more than I should, but its all stock with an AEM shortram. I would surely be more careful when I get more mods done.:D But for AutoX I run it against the revlimiter around corners so I can keep my revs up.:D

I dunno.. Reving to 7700 would scare the living shit out of me for some odd reason. I never had a high reving car before so maybe thats my problem, but id be scared shitless lol
