AEM CAI popping?? [Archive]

Hey whats up guys iv'e had my aem for a while and sometimes when i pop the gas the filter makes a popping sound i mean it's kinda weird i think that i just beat it on it so hard so maybe it has a hole or it's loose anyone have the same problem:o

I think other people have posted about this same thing. And if I remember right it goes away after a while.

yea my intake makes a popping sound sometimes when i hit the gas too. i get scared sometiems cuz i think the filter fell off or somethin, but when i check its fine. i wonder what it is tho........

I got the popping sound once also..thought my car backfired or something. Freakin drove the rest of the way home with the radio off to see if it would happen again, but it never did.

Mine's done that a few times since I got my K&N Typhoon. Weird. This is gonna require some investigation...

My AEM CAI pops as well, not all of the time but some of the time!! I dont know why it does it...but it does??

I am getting one soon, is this popping a bad thing? Any other probs? All in All is it a good intake compared to other ones?
