I was at the long beach grand prix today and right as i walked into the convention center i saw this car. it was in the display for al and eds auto sound and the guy there was telling people it was an rsx.
i told him it wasnt that it was a civic si and he got pissed off and didt beleve me lol oh well here are some pics.
the guy told me that its street legal and that they drive it all the time.

those guages are motorized and they move forward when the driver sits down.

**edit** the hguy was lying his ass off the civic is alpine's civic SI it was featured all over the internet and magazines a few months ago, and from what the gys that put it together say its well worth over 250k.(doubt any joe-blow shop owner could afford that). :D


Also, I read in an article that it has several nitrous bottles on the door but they are not connected they are there only for "looks"...now that equals rice IMO, the car must be heave as shit with all that fibeglass and audio equipment and I think it only has an intake.

what a waste o everything...time, money, fiberglass, SI, paint.

While I agree that the car is WAY overdone, you're all missing the point.

As this is Alpine's demo car, it is meant to show the potential of Alpine mobile electronics, not to highlight the potential of the Civic Si.

We should just be glad that Alpine chose a great platform to start from.

I have the super street mag. I think it was from may 2003. That thing has to be slow as sh!t because the guage cluster weighs 300 pounds and the car only has a aem cai and a removed exhaust system. :eek:

I do think it is way overdone as well.. but factor in what they did!!! WOW.. a single seat in the center of the car... relocated the entire shifter assembly..

Also, it was a novelty car... was not meant to even be driven... The reason they even relocated the seat was to put you in the center of the sound...

I say great job by alpine on this one.

Agreed, over the top. Stuff they did was impressive even if not functional.

Also in the article about that car.. the two people that put that together for Alpine said it has only had one tank of gas in it... the first one when the bought it. They also said that will probably be the last one too. They also went on to say that it only has the AEM CAI and wont add anything more since they dont want the emphasis on the engine. Trailor queen... oh well.

also, it isn't street legal... there is no exhaust system in it. Since they weren't going to drive it, they didn't bother.

both the si and the cooper are fucking gangster. alpine did a great job and yeah they most likely wont be driven but as said before that isnt the point.
