What kind do you all use and which do you think is the best?

If you use NGK plugs LMK what # you use.

I'm looking into Denso but I'm in a different application I think...

Denso Iridium - IK20

One step colder is - IK22

I believe the stock plugs are Denzo Iridums and are the best choice for the EP.

whats is so great about iridium plugs? I have only heard bad things about them.

Im a huge fan of good old copper NGK's. I have ran them in all my old tubro cars with great results. The only problem with them is you have to change them every 6-9k miles to keep them up to shape.

they last.
I'm quite partial to the bosch quad tip plugs though, they're all I use in my ep3, the second i got the car i swapped the plug and heard an immediate change in engine noise and idle.

Those Bosche plugs are PURE garbage and will cause alot of misfire and knock issues. This has been proven countless times on a dyno. Iridiums only!

And this is a 4 year old thread you brought back to life.

Honda uses both Denso and NGK Iridiums from the factory.

Bumping an ultra old thread cos my search turned up nothing but this.

Approx 90k (55k mi lol) but she's an 02 so I kinda want to swap spark plugs (even though recommended interval is 110k mi...)

All I have in terms of mods are an SRI (might consider a midpipe/CAI/reflash down the road) ... which plugs are for me?

Denso IK20? IK22? (colder only for a2/modded cars?)
NGK Laser Iridium IZFR6K11?

Anything newer I should be aware of? since this thread is from 08...........

And this is where me and talon argue until we hate each other. I was not rich like yall when I had my ep so I used ngk copper plugs. I was also on a turbocharged setup. But until I sold my ep I used the copper plugs but then tossed in the stockers when I sold it. I had no issues plus paying 1$ and some change is alot nicer than 10+++$ per plug

kai-wun, you just have bolt-ons, stick with the stock heat range. The Denso part # is IK20... I never can remember the NGK equivalent. Just go to an auto parts store and have them look it up.

Ken, yes the copper work ok with turbo/boost setup's, but they have a very short lifespan before they start screwing up.

For a NA application the coppers are as detrimental to performance as the crapass platinum's are.

A basically stock K20A3 will use a stock range plug, if your WHP is above around 180whp or so then you could step up to IK22(stock typeS plugs).
