If your gonna reccommend something....at least tell me where i can get em cheap. id like to get a performance tire that works well in the rain as well as in dry weather. I would like it if it came out under 330. come on guys gimme some input.

azenis is one of the best for its price but the only down side is its threadwear.

I guess out of those I would pick the 712's 205/50R16, you don't need the 215 width on a 16" tire.. just a waste of money IMO (and gas)

yea i agree, the Kumho's in 205/50/16 are a good choice. not the stickiest tire out there, but a good summer tire that can be used in the rain with good treadwear.

i have the same size on my C-8's and have almost 20k miles on them and theyre perfectly fine.

as for the Azenis, theyre a good summer tire but not too great in the rain and the treadwear rating isnt so great. but they are damn sticky for so cheap. 215/45/16 Azenis are about $100 a tire though.

I have these tires in 215/45 and love them. they are much better than the fz4's.

From what I've seen on this board most people seem to go with the Kumho 712's, Yoko AVS es100, which I currently have and are very good for the money, and the Falken Azenis. My two top picks would be the Kumhos or the Yokohama tires just because I think they would last longer. They both look to be cheaper than the Falken Azenis tires too. I personally like Tirerack.com. I would really like to try the Yoko parade spec2's though.

Also the tire sizes below seem kind of small. Might just be me though, but I have 205/55/16 tires. You might want to check out http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html to get the right size tires. If you don't know how to use it just type in the stock size tires of 195/60/15 and then compare the sizes of tires.

205/50/16 would give you the closest size to stock.
if you have AVS ES 100's i think youd be dissapointed in the Parada 2's. those are more "show" tires. where as the ES 100's are more of a performance tire, but the Parada's i think, would give you greater tread life.

Parada Spec 2:

ES 100:

These tires both utilize the same tire compound. The Parada is more of an intermediate tire while the ES 100 is more of a wet weather configuration. For max grip in dry conditions, the Paradas will kill the ES 100s... ;) Just my $0.02!!! :D

Ya I know, but I decided to go one size over. It only affects the speedo about 1.5mph and they reduce the appearence of fender gap. I think you would probably get better performance with the lower profile 205/50/16's, but I was willing to make that trade off.

It rains alot here in NY so I'm glad now I went with the es 100's. No problems so far.

Heh -- yeah, I can see what you mean. You'll notice, though, that there's more "space" on the surface of the ES100 than on the Spec 2.

The Azenis have lots of rubber to meet the road, and the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 (below) has lots of space to let water escape:
http://www.tirerack.com/images/tires/goodyear/gy_eagle_f1_gsd3_ci2_s.jpg

I'd like to go with either of those when my Kumho 711's wear out (just got 'em with my new C8's on Wednesday, so I've still got a while!).
