This morning I went to my local body shop to get the estimate on the install of the new body kit. When I get there I get to see the kit for the first time, it was sent by tractor trailer straight from the manufaturer in California and its not what I ordered.

I ordered... http://69.54.36.15/autobodyfx/product1.aspx?SID=15&Product_ID=4465&Category_ID=810

Which is what came, but its not a front and rear bumper, its just a lip add-on and rear skirt and the two side skirts. Clearly it says bumper on the page I linked right?

Also when I called and ordered over the phone I spoke to there "Body-kit specialist" who also told me it was a full front and rear replacement and two side skirts.

Now my problem is its a difference of anywhere from 400 to 600 dollars to get what came installed, rather then what should have came. They need to mold the front and rear pieces on, which also make it perminent, which I don't want, and make it much more expensive of a job. The side skirts will still apply simply with 3M double-sided tape. Before finding out it was a lip kit I was looking at about 600 to 900 dollars installed, now I'm looking at 1000 to 1600 installed.

What I'd like to do is just return the whole damn thing, but on this page, http://69.54.36.15/returns.asp , it says no returns on factory direct orders.

I'd really like to see my money back and they pay for this thing to get shipped back, but I'm not sure thats going to happen.

I'm waiting on their return department to return my vmail I left this morning.

If they give me the run around can I get in touch with the BBB? http://www.bbb.com/

Any advice would be great, thanks.

If you ordered it on a credit card should be pretty easy to contest the charge and get it cleared up since they sent you the wrong product. By the way, linky no worky.

i feel your pain... it was a windy day yesterday here in the detroit
metro area... i went to the local drugstore and when i came back out
i find a shopping cart had slammed into to the driver side door of my
6k mile ep... the cart must've been hauling! needless to say, i'm
still pissed! :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Fixed the link. Oh and my body shop called with the price, $1700 to install, molding front and rear, then making seamless and finishing, installing both side skirts, and raising the right door a few millimeters. The right door was rubbing slightly, they looked at it, and it was mounted lower then the left.

So I talked to the people at Revel, where I ordered from and they won't take it back unless I pay the shipping and take a 15% loss so I contacted the BBB in Memphis, closest to the dealer I ordered from and they already faxed a formal complaint. Now I just have to wait and see what happens.

I ordered it with my debit card or I would have reversed it :(

I spent two weeks doing research and even spoke to their specialist at the place I ordered from.

I was looking for a kit that wasn't too aggresive and had nice clean looking side skirts without being grafted. I also was looking for ABS or Urethane. I was specifically shopping for full front and rear replacements due to cost of install.

Oh well, we'll see what happens.

lip kits dont need to be molded unless you want them to be, and should cost less to install over a replacement bumpers etc..cost less to paint also. It is very clear, to me, in the pictures shown in the the link that they are not replacement bumpers but a lip kit even though the product page does state that it comes with replacement bumpers.

good luck though..hope it ends out how you want it all too

Find another bodyshop, those prices are too high. You can just get it painted for $300 or less and get a buddy to help you install it, real easy too do.

I'd have to say I agree with this. You should just get the lips painted and install them yourself...no need to have them molded. Lip-kits look great without being molded and obviously then it wouldn't be permanant. Not to mention the cost-effectiveness. Good Luck on everything though!
