EDIT: 4 May 2008

Here's some vids from the recovered files...for those that don't know...this is like 4 years old...when I had the street JRSC kit. On the dyno, I was testing a smaller pulley and different injectors at the time...this was some testing that was being done at the time before hondata and jrsc realized that certain injectors wouldn't work with the smaller kit and created detonation at the end...as you will see.

I'm am 200% more impressed than I would have thought. I had a jrsc before, and this new generation of their sc's are waaaay better. the jr power card works good enough to get you going and make sure you keep the motor going.

the only thing I don't like...is the fact that they could have given a little more boost with this charger. It also needs hondata tuning. It runs rich like a mofo.

Other than that, it's perfect. It runs great with no bogging, no weird spurts. When you drive normal, it's like it's not there. If you want to tease people, you can press the gas a tad and get the whistle sound it gets before going into boost :D people were staring at me when I would do that, then I'd hit it and they snapped their necks :D

It's not powerful like a turbo, but it is powerful. And you have to remember, it's only 5lbs of boost with absolutely no tuning at all.

do you plan on upppin the ante and running more boost? or can the charger hang with more? what kinda stuff are you planning to use ur car for?

02SilverSiHB
04-25-2004, 08:04 AM
the charger can definitely handle more boost. It's running really rich right now, so I plan to get hondata and more boost, probably no more than 8lbs of boost for me.

And I still haven't been to the track yet...the track doesn't open until the 7th up here in San Angelo.

As for stuff to use with the car..what do you mean? It's my daily driver, so I'm not going all out. I also like to autox, so maybe one day I'll get a quaiffe lsd

It was being secured there by the head rest. I just put the head rest on the full up position, crammed the digi cam in there and pushed the head rest down, it stayed there, but would move around when I got massive wheel hop in that one vid :D

3 things:

1. What happened to your rear-view mirror...it doesn't look stock.

2. In order to pimp..one hand on the wheel, one on the dash-stick.

3. It does seem like it takes awhile to shift before rev-limit.

I swear, it seems like first blows by in a flash already without a SC...maybe the video makes this process look slower...

1. Nothing happened to it, it's behind the broad way mirror

2.

3. it's fast, trust me, vids don't do shit, I don't even know why I made them because of posts like this. I watched a rev hard vid and a cybernation turbo vid at about 7lbs of boost for each, and it didn't impress me....you don't get the feel from the vid.

I think the video is cool. I can tell it punches harder, especially the 10 mph roll. I was just having some fun with you. I wish that SC would drop down to around $1800-$1900 because that Greddy kit is calling my name at $2400. I don't know which to get, so these threads help.

that's a nice price for the greddy, but it doesn't come with the intercooler, flange for the blow off valve, etc. But after you complete the kit, with hondata, it's a great turbo imo. If you want the most power, then turbo is the way to go, you can only do so much with a jrsc.

What pedals are you using?
Where did you get them?
How much?

sparco grip pedals. I tried getting them off of optauto, but they were out of stock, so I ended up getting them from k-series when he was selling them

port and polish? nah, I'm not into that, if I wanted some serious power, I would have went turbo. I just wanted a little something extra that was cheap and easy. I don't plan on keeping this car forever, so I don't want to spend anymore money on it.

I haven't been to the track yet...no telling when because I have a new born baby as of the 5th to take care of. But if I'm lucky I might go the 14th. But this car is definitely 14's no doubt. I put test pipe on recently and it hauls ass....reacts way better now. before without the sc, I was hitting 15.3's

yeah, good for him, I don't see too many si's running that though...not too mention, I still haven't seen a slip, but oh well. I don't expect anything great than a 14.3 with only 5lbs of boost

I would get turbo,
but I can't afford the labor prices. That's why I'm going for a JRSC. There's no pull like a turbo, though.

I think the total displacement of that thing has only been a few hundred miles now. Decided on a stage 3 or 4 competition clutch.

This thread is great. I'm considering buying the JRSC. So I take it that it's good for a daily driver. I noticed that they have a better kit that makes 8psi and comes with injectors and Hondata stuff for $200-300 extra. Is that worth it? If you stay off the gas is mileage the same? I have had eatons on both my old Lightning and Cobra. Great units capable of OEM mileage....
