After looking at the EP that just got totaled it got me to thinking again about how I do not have GAP insurace. I am just wondering how can I get this since Allstate does not offer it? Since mine does not what comapanys do?

Yeah talk to your dealer, they will be more than happy to sell it to you. Also worth it IMO :)

I have Allstate and my policy has gap insurance. I'm in California so maybe they just don't offer it in your neck of the woods.

gap insurance paid off with a buddy of mine.. He had his 02 Nissan Spec V stolen and they amount of money the insurance was less than what he owed. The GAP insurance covered the rest so there was no money out of his pocket. By the way... they found his car stripped to the metal and burnt to a crisp in some corn field up north. It was stolen in tampa florida.

I know Progressive offers it but unfortunately my current insurance company USAA does not. They told me that I could purchase some from the dealership.

GAP insurance does not have to be purchased at the time the car is bought. You can buy it at anytime, as long as the car is still in good condition. If your insurer does not offer it, you can check your local bank, or an online bank. I am pretty sure most insurance companies offer it. You may not see it on their website, but if you called, they would find a coverage for you.

I have GAP insurance on my car and I think it only ended up costing like $5-15 extra dollars a month on my car payment.

Cost me like $7 a month on mine. You can cancel it at anytime too. That good so you can cancel it after you reach the non-negative payoff on your car. Or I guess if you just got sick of the car you could torch it with no regard.;) ;) ;)

I wonder if I called up Honda if they would add it? They are who my car is financed through.
