OMG I can not belive that. Makes me rethink about getting a WRX for my next car. For most of us it was just a bad cluch cylinder. Man their problems are a lot worse then are car.

wrx are sweet cars but the couple i drove the trannys did not feel to good. they fell loose, like a "slush box" but i cant keep up with them anyway

i had a 2000 impreza 2.5rs.

the transmission is fragile.
clutch won't bounce back...
it won't engage smoothly when it has not warmed up yet....

the crappiest transmission you will ever get for a car that costs $27000CDN :(

edit: the description above are referred to my impreza, not ep3.
ep3 has silky smooth transmission

i dunno what tranny probs you are having with the ep... mine is silkier than ever, totally smooth, like your g/f freshly shaved and straight out the shower.

Well of course the '02 WRX's would have more problems then the rest; it was the first model year for that car. Just like most of the '02 EP guys around here are having more troubles than the people w/ 03's and up.

It's almost expected w/ first or second model year cars, whether you bought a $23K WRX or $40K RX300 (ask me how I know)...

i must have been one of the lucky ones...My old ep3 was an 02 and bought maybe after 4 months of being on the market...I put 35,000 miles on it and drove it hard almost everyday for a year b4 i traded it and never had a single problem with its tranny.
