Sorry, don't think so. Who would tell you something like that? Also do you mean V2 :D

You mean the V2 not the V6? The V2 is just another short ram no matter what people say. It will still suck in hot air and still act like a short ram...hell it even sits in the same place a short ram does. It will heatsoak just like any other SRI.

Comptech Icebox is a nice piece, throttle response is greatly increased and midrange is great.

Injen CAI would be my choice. Good gains all across, better top end power than the Icebox (On various real world dynos, not manufacturer dynos).

If you auto-x, do a lot of in town driving and worried about hydrolock, Icebox would be for you. If you do a lot of drag racing, revving your motor and love hearing your A3 whine out the Injen would be good for that :) These are my opinions I'm sure others will differ.

I have to say after I just intalled my AEM CAI I am not as worried about hydrolock as I was when I thinking about buying it. I got it used for a good deal so I went with it, but I had that hydrolock idea in the back of my head. I only have a 1.5" drop and when I looked at it I would have to get my car in about 9" of water just to touch the filter.

hydrolock problems solved.:)

AEM V2 is the best intake out for the Si right now.

yea it makes u lose hp and torque all across the boards ad barely gains it back. and thats on a dyno. imagine if u were rolling on the street and heat soak sets in.

Go with Injen you won't regret it. Good gains, great sound, and great look under the hood!!!

cai > icebox > short ram > 250$ short ram intake that makes special noises aka V2
