OK day started out pretty good. Got my Ground wires in from Happies, and installin them tonight.

Head over to Gr8budda's place. Rotate his tires, then proceed with the ground wire installation. All is going well till I get to the Valve cover bolt. Well I manage to sheer it off and loose it. We spend 20mins lookin for it, jack the car up..still nothing.(I will post pics tomorrow of the sheered bolt..maybe u all can help me!)

Go and pull out of his place and i manage to jump the curb. popping my tire on the drivers side.

So today I was going to place my order with Chuck to purchase A)my exhaust or B) my wing...but now I cant because I possibly have a bent rim. and now a sheered off valve cover bolt.

Stitch is sitting out side with a red rim, and a broken heart(sounds like the owner) :o

OK here is where I need your help.

GOOD TIRES FOR THE STOCK RIMS! and also I will post the pic of the damage I did to my car.

Anyone know what I can do about the bolt?

Thanks
Chris

wow dude, your day DID suck! About the bolt, do a search on here. I'm sure I remember reading about somebody that did the exact same thing when he was installing ground wires not too long ago. I know he fixed it too. You'll probably have to get a bolt extractor and maybe even a tap to get the threads right again. When I snapped a bolt on my header, it was about a 2 hour fix. good luck man!:D oh, and when you're putting a new bolt back in that valve cover, don't torque it more than 7.5 ft lbs!!!

if the valvecover bolt broke close to the nut, it can be reached once the valvecover is removed. get a pair of vice-grips and turn it out. then just get a stud and nut from the dealer. if not, you may need to drill and tap for a new stud. most likely you can get it out with the valvecover off. good luck.

i'm confused? whats missing. seems to be all there. the bolt that looks like it is missing shouldn't be there. the same valve cover is used on the crv, element and rsx s and base. accessories are bolted to that in other models... ie: element. so if that was it don't fret you're okay man...

Chris, like oldschoolimport said, you should try removing the valve cover to get a better grip on the bolt to get it out. Id just order a new one, doesnt look like there should be any problems with re threading the new bolt. Hope everything turns out with the rim and its only a flat that can get patched. Take it easy man, better days are ahead.
