Hey guys, i was just wondering what is the most gas you have ever put into the ep??? I know our fuel capacity says 13.2 gallons, but this past weekend when I filled up, i got a total of 14.671 gallons!!! I was like whoa... don't think there is anything wrong with the machine because i fill up there all the time. I was running with the gas light one for a while, about 25 miles on the highway. Anybody have comments.

Time to call the BBB on that gas station!

I have ran with my gas light on for over 40 miles and still never put more than 12.5 gallons in the EP.

yeah somethings wrong there you should of had at least 2 gallons left and your filler hose doesn't hold more than a gallon.

I've gone 70 miles after the light went on and the pump stopped after 10 gallons. I forced another gallon in after that. That damn gas light is anal. 14 gallons though.... hmmmmm

speaking of gas...what kind of gas mileage are you getting?

i have only had the car a few weeks and filled it twice, but it doesn't seem to be doing to well on gas. i have been doing 90% city driving, but on a full tank, i only got about 240 miles before the gas light came on. when i filled up though, it only took 10 gallons. i'm around 120 now and it's at half, so i'll probably only get 240 out of this tank too.

so far it's worse than my 93 civic, which got 250-300 doing the same driving...and that only had a 11.9 gallon tank.

just wondering what everyone else is getting?

there are a couple of other threads on what people are getting on gas mileage...

as for myself, I range between 240-270 before the light when doing about 75% city. I've gotten 330 before the gas light, but that was 100% highway. When my light goes on, I've usually got about 3 gallons of gas left.

I had shitty gas mileage until my first oil change, I was getting 22mpg or worse, now I get 26 with HARD driving. I got like 30+ 100% highway driving w/ AC.

Yeah... At best your '93 had a 127hp 1.6l engine and weighed 2300 pounds.

The EP has a 2 liter engine and weighs nearly 2800 pounds.

24-26 MPG is about average for city driving in the EP. I have hit 31 on the freeway, and that was before the 6 speed swap.

Funny you should mention that, another time I ran out of gas on the highway at 350 miles. I have AAA Plus membership though so a guy came out for free and I got two gallons of gas for no charge. Hmm, maybe I'll start doing it on purpose . . .

Interesting comments....i may consider calling the BBB. I have nothing to gain or lose myself, but i can save other people from the harm. I still have the receipt for the fill-up. Does this make a difference, usually when i fill up, the gas pumps hecka fast...but that day i filled up, the nozzle was pumping really, really slow, it took about three to four minutes to fill my tank when it usually takes about a minute.
Also about the total gas mileage, i have gotten anywhere between 250-350 miles, depending on how hard i drive and highway or local miles. It's weird, i'll sometimes get a lot of miles for the first half of the tank and near to nothing on the second half of the tank or vice-versa.
Finally, does anyone know how to contact the BBB???

Speaking about gas, what kinda gas are you guys running? The manual says unleaded or higher. I know I used 93 in my 99 Si. Still on the first tank of gas in my 04, which the dealer filled with regular unleaded. Just wanted to know if it would help any to use a higher grade.

LIVING IN CALIFORNIA, THE HIGHEST OCTANE WE HAVE IS 91, WHICH I PERSONALLY USE.

For everyday driving just use 87 but if you want to autocross or drag race put about 3 gallons of sunoco 94 in it

I've ran 87 from a cheap lil local gas place and gotten around 270-280 miles (about 75% highway) before the gas light comes on. I've also ran 91 from Shell and got about 260-270 miles (about 75% highway as well) before the gas light came on. I run whatever the cheapest 87 around is ;)
