Power mods:
K&N SRI
DC SS Shorty Header
Megan Racing Test Pipe
Invidia Catback
A2 Head + ECU
Ground wires

My numbers:
Run 1 (3rd gear): 177.43hp, 124.98tq
Run 2 (3rd gear): 177.41hp, 124.91tq
Run 3 (4rd gear): 164.67hp, 123.26tq
Run 4 (3rd gear): 171.88hp, 121.86tq
Run 5 (3rd gear): 172.59hp, 121.28tq
Run 6 (3rd gear): 168.24hp, 123.13tq
Average of 3rd gear runs: 173.51hp, 123.232tq

The charts below show the temperature increase durring the time of the runs, which is more than likely the cause of the numbers getting lower. Also keep in mind that this is completely untuned, the K-Pro won't be in the car for another week or two ;) (And to all those who were talking smack about my 1/4 mile times, I told you I was a bad driver, falling out of VTEC hurts, and having rims that weigh 20lbs before adding tires on doesn't help much either ;) )

Runs 1&2:

Run 2 had the same, so I won't post numbers, but you can see it in the charts below
Run 3: 165.23hp, 135.40tq
Run 4: 165.68hp, 135.50tq

good numbers!! i forgot what were your 1/4 times? also do you know what a stock type S would put down and what a type S with similar mods would put down?

my best 1/4 time so far was 15.7. once i get some lighter rims (I hate to do it, but it looks like I'll be hopping on the Rota bandwagon), and have the K-Pro and tune it so that I'm not falling out of vtec from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd, that number should go down significantly. as for the rsx-s dyno numbers, someone else will have to chime in on that one, cause i'm not completely sure.

I think the average for an RSX-S is 170-180hp...
ClubRSX has a great sticky w/ dyno slips w/ all diff. mods...

i think ephatch should do something like that. That will help people know where there car stacks up.

yea this should qualm any doubts you guys are having about the A2 headswap on the a3 block. Untuned 177whp. That is awesome. Oh btw, hearing VTEC kick in on an EP3 is a damn cool feeling. Sends chills up your spine..:p

On another note, I hit 165 whp and 135 tq on an A3, I'm pretty freakin happy too. Comptech race header OWNZ.

The EP made 10 more ft lbs of tq?

Other than that, very nice #'s guys.

Nice numbers!! Now I know what an EP can do.

From the numbers I think I would rather stick with the A3 head since it seems like you loose a lot of torque with the A2.

Funny, I just asked the same thing the other day and got one response, which was to buy it from Acura. I bet that would not be expensive

I did find a website with one page that has k20 engine swaps. I am going to email him about the head only!

How come your #s are so low? My A2 swap with factory RSX S ecu, V2, highflow cat and catback exhuast netted me 183hp and 130 ft/lbs.

I wonder if your valve train is screwed. Im just saying that cause my motor got stronger numbers the hotter it got. In my A3 the more runs the weaker the numbers cause my valve train was about to go.

Probably the lower compression of the a3 bottom

Ah, that would make sense.

nah my valvetrain isn't screwed. the a2 ecu is designed for the a2 motor, which has a much higher compression ratio than the a3. puting the a2 head/ecu on the a3 block results in 2 things. 1) it runs a little bit rich, which bogs it down, thus killing horsepower, and 2) the ignition timing is way more retarded then it needs to be. with the k-pro, i've heard of some people being able to advance it by as much as 10 degrees. also, the rims i was running at the time weighed 20lbs each, +20lbs tires = 40 lbs per wheel. this produces lower numbers on the dyno. i've since switched back to the stock wheels, and will soon be getting some slipstreams. this should add another 5whp or so, and a few wtq. i'll also be getting my k-pro soon (i know i've been saying that for a while, but money is finally comming in on a steady basis, and after this 1 last court appearance i have to deal with, i'll be getting it), so i should be able to squeeze 5 to 10whp out of that. once all is said and done (and before the K24 block or turbo, whichever it ends up being), i should be hitting close to, if not slightly over 200whp.

Recently I've been noticing ALOT of K20a2 and K20z1 head swap questions. So I'm bumping this up for people to see.

Gearhead Geek was the FIRST well recorded K20a2 headswap online. Anjapower was the second and most well documented headswap online. If by chance you have questions, PM Gearhead Geek first. He knows his stuff and has had the headswap for over 50k miles.

Hope this helps some of you.
