Well lately I've been driving my EP3 pretty hard. Frequent trips all the way to 8k on the tach, trips to the dragstrip, dyno runs, etc etc. Car is taking it all in stride, and keeps asking for more. One thing in peculiar that I've been noticing is that my gas mileage is getting better?

I've now got 18k miles on my EP3. I've got i/h/e and Hondata, and for the past 1500-2000 miles I've been getting outstanding gas mileage. So good that it doesn't even make sense. I drove my car very hard on the last tank...frequent flooring, redlining, 6 passes at the dragstrip, and I got 302 miles before the gas light came on:eek: :eek:

Usually I got about 275ish with normal driving. Now with aggressive driving I'm getting 300+. What are you guys averaging before the light comes on? I'm pretty sure that I can break 340-350 before the light comes on. I'll have to try it sometime when I'm not feeling so playful;)

my record so far is 37 mpg, but that was on the highway.

i hit 320 once...the gas light came on in my driveway then the next morning it didnt come on for the whole day..i had 285 when it was in the driveway with the gas light on..

does mine count?

my lowest was i think 250 before the light. I'm using 5w30 castrol gtx.

i get 315+ miles everytime, i use 89 octane fuel and castrol 5W-20 oil

i use castrol 520 and my lowest was 190 before light. best was 310 before light.. my mileage is very random, no matter if i drive the same.. so weird.

^I agree. No matter how I drive, it always come out dramatically different. Worst I've ever got before the light actually happened tonite. I hit 200 and the light came on (about 80% city driving). Best is 340 before the light, but that was 100% highway driving. I'm running 5w-30 Mobil 1 synth, but that time I hit 340, I was running 0w-20 Mobil 1 synth

Nah, I hear ya. Right before my baby had a heart attack it was getting some awesome mileage and pulling like a poor hoe wanting future business. The idle was a little funky and the tech said that may have the first sign of the motor crapping out.

I drive my car hard every day, and my averages are about 270-280 miles per tank, 87 octane. I also use conventional oil, whatever grade is recommended by Honda. 0W-20, I believe. I also had a horrible steering rack squeak which has disappeared, my OEM tires are still hanging on, and the rest of the car is in tip-top shape.

no way dude, that would mean you were getting 45+mpg. Were u being towed or did you have a 300mph tailwind? LOL.

No lie! I pumped gas as slow as possible gettin every drop in hehe and i just babied it drivin speed limit it only happened once i drove bout 80 miles and my needle was still above F
