I have $600
should I spend it on a full usdm type r kit from showstoppers or hondata?
note* if i get the kit I will probably have to invest another $400 to get it painted and installed, and I am kind of poor right now, hodata on the other hand will be a simple 5min install

what do you guys think?

First of all, if you want quality paint, it will cost more than $400. Hondata Vs. USDM Kit is really a personal decision, do you want your car to look fast, or go fast? Once you figure that out, the choice should be a simple one!

But if i were in your shoes, i would go with the hondata. I have never heard one person on this board who was upset or dissapointed with their hondata purchase!

my vote is for hondata. you could also do i/h/e for around $600 if you spend wisely.

Go!

You can only see the "show" when you're not in the car -- at least that's what I think.

Go for hondata or somthing, the show can come down the road later!

i say neither.. hondata is only going to bump your redline to 7700. thats it. i say go for the DC sports ceramic race header(310) and MM inserts, and a set of CTR lighs or something. best of show and go.. just some ideas tho

Niether. Stay stock :D

JK. I dunno, but for some reason, dropping $600 for an ECU reflash doesnt make me feel like my money has been properly spent. It could all be lost because of a dealer/mechanic's stupid mistake.

I'd get the kit, personally, but its all up to you

i say do what floats your boat.
personally i like having my car look nice. im not really into racing but i do like to have power. the problem w/ power is warantee issues. but hondata is the wiser choice of the 2

depends on what mods you have right now...

but my vote goes for hondata and then spend some money on a cai

Hondata. The only people who are REALLY going to notice a difference with the kit are, in my opinion, tuners. Get the go, show can always come later.

I want a race header, but removing the cat will ruin my emissions testing, unless there is another solution other than swapping in the oem header when emission time comes.

I have aem cai and a midpipe for go so far
Hondata will complement that nicely I believe

hondata is a cool mod, but if you get it there are a few things that will happen.

1. you get used to the throttle response so it doesnt really feel different

2. you aren't fascinated with the upped redline and don't even use it.

I got hondata b/c it was a deal I couldn't pass up. Honestly, I wouldn't pay 600 for it.

I also have the usdm kit. Pretty good kit. looks nice.

I would recommend putting the money towards suspension stuff.

Be a pal and buy everyone on here a t-shirt that says "I<3MyEphatch.com" You will feel good about yourself and the money you spent. And everyone will kiss your toes for a day or so!

Hondata, whats so hard about that?

hondata is a waste.. its only the 7700 rpm. and its you ECU. if you mess something up and need warrentee work done, your whole warrentee is in the trash w/ hondata. i would go race header and MM inserts. maybe the progress front and rear sways too.. or springs if your not dropped yet..

take the 600 and put it in your savings account!!! Put it towards college or pay off credit cards or car payments! It will be a much better investment! :P
